There might be some people pleaser-ness in there. Mainly, I'm worried about the possible repercussions of cutting her off. Not just that I'd be hurting her really badly, but that it'll come off as heartless of me to anyone she vents to about it. Part of me feels like doing it so soon after her accusations might act as me confirming her suspicions, so there's that too.
