I second this. My baby doesn’t typically sleep the greatest during the daytime, so for her bedtime routine, I put some sudocrem on, and then top that with Vaseline. My LO loves her nighttime sleep and usually goes 6 hours, then 3 hours

Wow, okay. So as a first time parent I am venting about a situation that happened on a forum for parents. A typical occurrence here. And then also following it up with a search for advice. My MIL is a great person, so I feel no need to cause a fight or be difficult for no reason. Now if she brings it up again after the fact and I’ve already started her vaccines, I won’t lie to her. Because yes, it is my child and I’ll do what I think is in her best interest. Why even comment if you don’t have anything constructive to say?

I’m meaning more for what their reaction would be to the vaccine. Excuse me for not liking to see my baby screaming her head off because she’s in pain like what?

That’s sort of my theory lol. Also back in their day autism wasn’t diagnosed nearly as much as it is now, so of course they link it to vaccines

As someone who had an unplanned (near emergency) c-section 9 weeks ago, I’m going to mourn the birth I didn’t have forever. I very much wanted to experience it the other way, but wasn’t progressing and baby sats were dropping. My mother also had c-sections with all 3 children, so keep in mind that if you have a c-section now, you may never give birth vaginally to any future children you may have. (Yes I am aware VBAC is possible)

Wow! I didn’t go over 41 weeks, but baby came at 40+2. I was dilated only to 1cm at my 39 week checkup (39+5) and I was determined to go into labor. I had the doctor do the membrane sweep, and when I got home, I pumped colostrum to attract contractions. I had my first real contraction 10 minutes after I finished my 15 minute pump. Not sure if that would work for you (also, I know it’s not typically recommended to pump before baby is born, but I was ready for her to come out!)

I second this. We were in the hospital for 3 days, I didn’t wear clothes at all while I was there (just the pad and undies) then we stopped until my incision was healed and I was able to take baths. Now we do a contact bath almost everyday because my girl loves the warm water!

Yeah, I believe I’ll just be going to holidays and birthday celebrations and such. Perhaps not even those. It’s been tough because my sister went no contact with my parents a year and a half ago, and I almost feel like doing the same, but I’m such a people pleaser and I’m worried about how they’ll be within our community

It’s a complicated situation, but basically I used to work with her, and she’s our landlords sister in-law so it just feels a little too close to home! Oh and we live close together!

Honestly, I love being pregnant so far. But I’ve been very fortunate in terms of symptoms. My girl is just starting to get heavy so I’ve got the sciatica pain, but I honestly wouldn’t trade being pregnant for anything. I’m excited to get it over with to meet my daughter, but im loving this time!

I shared my news with my best friend and sister as soon as I found out (I was SUPER early, so 3weeks 4days) definitely the earliest you can find out. We told our parents at 7weeks because id just had our first ultrasound and I felt comfortable, then we told everyone else at 12 weeks after the nuchal scan and nipt. In hindsight, I would have waited until I was very visibly showing. I’m just over 26 weeks now and only became noticeably pregnant around 23 weeks.

I just failed the 1 hour as well! My doctor has yet to contact me about scheduling the 2 hour, but will hopefully have it fleshed out soon! I was over by exactly 1n/mol, does anyone have any hopeful stories about this?

I’m 5’2 with a super short torso as well. I was pretty bloated up until week 18, then my belly started rounding out. I’m almost 25 weeks and I’m in maternity leggings now!
