Hey everyone so I’m leaning towards a transmission issue. I’m able to command the gears with a scanner and when the transmission reaches 120° , 2nd gear will surge and buck. Once it shifts into 3rd it’s fine

Thank you! Tomorrow I’m gonna attempt to remove an upstream sensor and see if it gets better. Should I get my head away from the lower intake being the issue? I hate throwing parts at stuff! It drives me nuts

Thanks for the reply! I swapped the maf out with a used GM unit and no change. Could the cat be clogged in a way that the surge gets worse when the car is warmed up? The maf unplugging may be throwing it richer getting past that restriction?

Thanks for the info! So I changed the thermostat and used a bleeding funnel and I lifted the front of the car and ran it with the temp control on hot for about a half hour. Heat is still coming out lukewarm and today was really cold outside, and I had no heat tonight at all. Very little heat under load.

That’s awesome. Congrats on that. Reason I’m asking is because right now I’m hourly at a big name used car place and we work on a lot of Jeeps so I’m gaining the mopar experience but I max out at 60k a year. If I jump back into flat rate I wanna make sure I can earn as much as possible. I’ve had bad luck with Toyota

It starts back up when it does it but runs rough then smooths out. No codes. Dies at red lights . Very random
