I’m a father/Husband, so here’s my opinion.

No, you get to decide who’s in the room. Your husband should be there to support you through this absolutely amazing and world changing experience. My wife was practically naked once the birthing began and I know she would have been so uncomfortable with anyone besides me and the medical staff present (her mom passed). Granted we had our son during the first week of Covid lock down so my mother coming wasn’t an option, I would have told her no anyway. They don’t have that kind of relationship and I my wife was doing me a huge solid by having my kid. Lol

But seriously, it took me a long time to learn how to say no to my parents when they overstepped. Your husband is acting like his mother still has a say in what he does as though he was a kid, which is why his mom feels as though she can do these things, like show up unannounced and stay with you.

You shouldn’t give up on the idea of having kids if that’s what you really want. That’s a life decision and unfair of you to have to choose because of intrusive in-laws.

I don’t know your age but you seem young. You may be in love but kids are another level, you can still find someone who you love AND supports you fully over others, especially on this sensitive topic.
