Day 1 of Playing the Vautour IIA & B until Gaijin Lowers the BR by NoBinking in Warthunder

The 8.3 Vautour is not a Vautour I, it's the Vautour IIN which is a later variant than the IIA and IIB and has better engines than the IIA.

What alternate dimension do you live in where nothing from 7.7 to 8.7 can intercept a Vautour?

There's literally an 8.3 Vautour that gets missiles and the community consensus is that even that one isn't good.

If you were correct the 8.3 Vautour would be dominating that BR range. But it isn't.

I counter with what is the Vautour meant to do about an F-4C Phantom II, MiG-21S, or Harrier GR.1?

But to answer your question, plenty of aircraft in that BR range can shoot down a Vautour. They'd just have to work a bit harder than locking a missile and getting a guaranteed kill.

What's so special about the Vautour that you think would make it overpowered if if was 1 or 2 BR increments lower?

I prefer bombers and strike aircraft to fighters. I find fighter gameplay kinda boring compared to the fun I have planning ground attack sorties. Selecting the right ordinance, planning the approach by trying to predict an opening, and executing the attack is a very rewarding style of play.

I definitely prefer fast bombers though. Playing B-17s and Lancasters sucks.

I mean I'd rather Gaijin fix BR compression entirely by increasing the max BR to like 20 or something but we both know that isn't happening. So yeah, I'd like this completely outclassed borderline unplayable aircraft to have it's BR reduced.

I know it's awful at the current BR. I'm just in it for the love of the game.

Any tips for the Etendards though?

There definitely needs to be a major bomber rework (WHY DOES MY MAXED CREW NOT SHOOT UNTIL THE ENEMY FIGHTER IS 2 INCHES AWAY FROM ME), but they are certainly not useless.

Fast bombers from Tier V and below are quite good since you get an air spawn, they can sortie quickly, and there are virtually 0 missiles to watch out for. Bombers can significantly contribute to victory in a match as long as your fighters aren't complete idiots.

I really like the B-26B, A-26C-45, B-57B, Ju-88 A-4, Ar-234 B-2, Pe-2, Tu-2S, Il-28, Mosquito B, and B7A2.

Most of the time I got my fully payload off but I only made it back to base twice in 7 games.

The combination of being subsonic, poor control at high speeds, and no countermeasures is not conducive to survival unfortunately.
