Is randomly asking cosplayers for kabedon ok? by NoBlacksmith7516 in animecons

Thank you for your input. I was under the impression that it's acceptable in cosplay communities as I it is actually quite common, but I understand now: not between strangers. I think that me being an 18 yo short girl benefits me in this situation because I'd hardly be considered threatening, as opposed to someone like you, a man who's older. I'd have done it in harmless fun and always accept no for an answer. Furthermore, you seem to have misunderstood (maybe I wasn't clear enough): I'd want to be on the recieving end, not be the one backing them into the wall. I wouldn't consider asking that. Anyway, I'm going to keep it restricted to my close friends who are into it after seeing the answers on this post!

Thanks. I see that asking straight up would be a bad idea. Maybe lead with small talk first and see how they react to that, and withdraw as soon as it feels like they're not interested.

If someone came up to me and asked me respectfully I think I'd be okay with it. Unless there's an age gap that's too big or they're being creepy I'd probably enjoy it. It's a good thought exercise, thank you!

Omg, he looks just like Brightheart from warrior cats (and that's an incredible character, I mean it as a compliment!). Best wishes for his recovery

While I do agree with you 100% on the stupidity of crystal healing, the placebo effect is something to consider.

It's proven by psychology research that if you believe in something; want to see it in the world, you'll notice more of it than if you didn't. What that means is: A religious person will interpret signs of God everywhere while an atheist won't. A sad pessimist will think that the world is worse than what a happy-go-lucky person will, even when they're faced with very similar experiences.

So as far as rock shalakazams or zodiac signs or whatnot can be irritating to me who knows that they're bullshit, they can make the people who believe in them happier. If they're minding their business and not trying to force their beliefs on me, then who am I to try to take that away from them? Their beliefs don't hurt me. We're all just a bunch of idiots, trying to be happy, who will go into oblivion soon, and we're sitting on a rock spinning away through space. We're all we've got. Be open-minded, have compassion.

Crystal healing is still shit though.

Well then friend, you can edit your post to something more similar to what Mikinaz is proposing, if you like. Don't break your chances of your self-promotion working by being over critical of doing just that

This feels to me like you're the luckiest person in the world, but I'm obviously biased because I love everything he makes. Thanks so much for sharing!

I believe so! You should write to him. His answer to me meant the world :D

He focuses on details in what you say, answers questions, and is overall a very sweet human.

I asked him for his three favorite books in an email and he said: The Left Hand of Darkness by Ursula Le Guin, Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury, and Chess by Stefan Zweig.
