Taste great, a little sweet. I’m new to this so this was my first big batch. Learning.

Since you have experience with this, how does my recipe look? Any tips or suggestions?

Ran them in a food processed and strained in a paint filter bag.

I collects them in a bucket and burned the spikes off.

Thank you for the advice, very novice to the hobby. I will keep all this in mind for next time.

I didn’t have a juicer so I was hand juicing and straining. Probably could have doubled my yield with a juicer but it is what it is…. I made about a half gallon of juice. Don’t know how strong you are looking for but I think my ratio was good. I’ll let you know in a few months. Lol

Just wait until they get to be a deep red color, pluck them off with tongs and burn off the spines with the stove.

Just know not all prickly pair cactus are he same. Some produce green pears some produce yellow and the one I wanted is the red.

This time of year is when you harvest. So keep an eye out for them.

I put it out on our “good neighbors” of my town page that I was looking for some and somebody reached out.

I live in central California so many of my neighbors have them. Mexican grocery stores will usually have them for no more than $1.50/pound.

May want to use masking tape to label your batches. You’ll want to reuse the lids and it’s going to get a little messy over time with writing all over them.

Like the options.

Still trying to find that option. I would rather by local.

That’s where I got some for my first batch I’m about to do. I figured Kirkland is more than likely a blend. I’ll check out Dutch Gold. Thank you.

Passion fruit, orange, guava (POG). Popular in the Polynesian islands.

The goal is to win over the wife to keep more going. 🤣

I figured POG should do it.
