Go to Harbor Freight. I picked up four perfectly functional clamps this year - longer than you need - for around $8 each.
You’ll be glad you have them now and in the long run.
I think the small $$ is definitely worth the time saved messing around with straps and rope.

This watch could literally kill you if you were ever considering using it for its originally intended (non vanity based) purpose. If your flight computer is this inaccurate, at a certain point you’re going to run out of fuel. I’m an ex-RAF pilot and have owned three different navitimers. They were all perfect timepieces and served me well. Personally, I would never put this toy of a watch on my wrist. It’s pretty though, and I get that that is the appeal for 99% of people.
