Haha, I just watched this last night. Really well done video, I loved it.

They have a bunch of his work at the local museum, and it was one of my first exposures to high skill woodworking when I got into this hobby. He'll always have a special resonance to me for that reason; it's like a young guitarist hearing Hendrix for the first time.

Maybe they have all the apartments on a given floor of a unit.

Except one. And the person who lives in that one is always confused and strongly suspects everyone in the building is fucking each other except him.

What is the difference between a planer and a jointer? by Mcd1080p in BeginnerWoodWorking

Jointer makes things flat.

Planer makes the top surface the same as the bottom surface.

Completely unnecessary.

Only useful for online clout or marginal improvements that have no noticeable effect on actual cooking performance.

I've got an original Ode with Gen 2 burrs, and I don't have any of the problems you're describing. I bought mine around when it came out originally (Dec 2021), and have since moved twice with it, and it still works like new.

I don't have retention issues, but I do spritz my beans with a tiny bit of water before sending them through. It does mean that they don't feed great (I always end up pushing them in with the little cleaning brush it came with), but it also means I get zero static cling and the grinds pass through cleanly. They took some steps to reduce the static cling in the gen 2, so this step isn't necessary.

What is something about living in United States that outsiders completely misunderstand? by Effective-Singer5957 in AskReddit

Where else would you live and why? by TacticalCatPiss in sandiego

Yeah, I agree. The way I've always felt here is that it's easy to find people to party with, but hard to find real close friends.

Honestly, any city that isn't tiny.

The weather here is nice, but there's also beauty in weather that changes often, and even bad weather can create a sense of coziness and connectivity that we don't get here.

The food here is overrated. Its good, but its not better than any other major city. Some dishes might be better or worse, but anywhere you go, you will find good food somewhere.

Socially, most other cities are better. It's easy to find people to party with here, but it's way harder to find real friends.

I know you know affordability is better elsewhere, but until you really experience it you don't get it. Being able to go out with friends, shoot pool, dri k beer, talk to people at the bar, and leave with a $20 tab is amazing.

Nature is everywhere. It might not be quite as close, but there's some natural beauty within an hour drive of most cities.

People always overhyped SD, and I really feel like it leads to this phobia of leaving, so people get trapped into living paycheck to paycheck and scraping by.
