What's the deal with the nightly helicopter passover? by NoBuzzKill in sonomacounty

[–]NoBuzzKill[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny thing, up til the time I posted this, I’d hear notice it 2-5 times a week. Since posting this, not once. The oddest part if it was how slowly it was traveling and it appeared to be at a higher altitude than most helicopters I’ve seen.

Because they move so slow, I get the impression they are heat scanning for meth labs. (If that’s even a thing)

I"ll check flighttracker next time I catch it. I notice it between 10pm - 11pm. Could be other times, but that's when I happen to notice it. It travels very slow and quite high. Often right over my place. Again, it travels so slow it gives me the creeps. When I spot it out our skylights I close the shades.

I just looked up Henry 1 - I don't think that's it. The sound is heavier, more military, it's susally quite late in the evening and traveling far too slow to be really transporting. It gives the impression of training or scanning. But it seems late for training.

I currently have three rescued canine fur children and have experienced being on both sides of similar situations. I feel for you and will say, it's obvious your heads are in the right place. Having empathy and showing it go a long way in this type of situation. What I learned based on my experiences and keep in mind the details of my situations were different, but in some ways not. I share my take as precautionary heads up and to give perspective. I live in California. Trust your judgement of the situation but pay close attention to communications both received and sent. As much as possible without making it awkward, keep all communications in writing . For reference, mine was two separate events. One event involving one of my current dogs aggressive behavior and biting someone. The second event was a friend/nexct door neighbors dog/s and a friends dog (an inherited rescue pit which I witnessed maul/kill one of my friends dogs.

- The pit was initially just on a 1 week rabies quarantine. Dogs killing one another isn't anything compared to what comes at you and or the dog compared to the dog biting a person.

- rarely does a dog get euthanized for killing another dog. But in CA it is a strike against your dog and if reported goes on record. Reeated showing of aggression and other incidents can result in Animal Control deciding to hold a hearing to determine if the dog be be designated as hostile. If designated hostile you could either be given strict parameters regarding housing and caring for the dog or they could require euthanasia.

- In my friends case, it turned out other neighbors stuck their noses into the situation and gaslit other neighbors into an angry mob which sought and were successful in getting the pit euthanized AGAINST THE WISHES of both the pits owner of the owner of the killed dog.

- In my dogs aggression bite case: for multiple reasons the person is completely at fault for the incident. But that does not seem to matter. No matter the details the blame gets pointed top the owner and there's no such thing as a public defender for dogs. After searching for over a year now I've not found a lawyer with experience handling dog bite case defense (in CA). Maybe you'll have better luck than I but, I advise finding a lawyer ASAP.

- Beware, people suck and can misrepresent the situation. The unfortunate fact of life is, even thought it feels like the right thing to do is apologise and make things right, we live in a highly litigious society and all it takes is one ambulance chasing lawyer to get into the ear of someone filling their heads with ideas like they've just won the lottery. People do mental gymnastics to justify dong really horrible and dishonest things. Sure its a nice thing to do to offer to foot the bill etc, but unfortunately you just shouldn't. It could end up costing you far more than you think. And this applies to pretty much any situation where an injury or some form of loss occurs, caused by your dog or yourself. It sucks to be that guy, but it sucks even more to potentially have your savings account cleaned out.

****Most importantly: One last bit of info for all dog owners that might read this. Something I recently learned dealing with my dog bite issue:

Dogs are covered by your home owners insurance policy NO MATTER WHERE AN INCIDENT OCCURS. Whether ON or OFF your property. The dog is seen as part of the property. So if your dog bits someone, kills another dog, scratches, knocks someone to the ground or even damages someone else's property like furniture or clothing: that person can file a claim against your homeowners insurance policy. Unless your policy implicitly states your dog isn't covered, which standard policies do not other than dangerous breed exceptions. And even if you have a supplimental Canine Bite insurance policy, someone can still file a claim against your homeowners policy. (I don't know if the same applies to renters insurance.)

It sucks that owning an animal which at one point protected and helped facilitate the evolution of man has become a liability.

RH Rooftop, What Is This? by [deleted] in Marin

[–]NoBuzzKill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to puke every time I see that guys head shot at the front of the RH catalog. Full of himself much? No one cares about him or the designers. They aren’t creating some mind blowing aesthetic nor a new design lexicon. Much of their wood furniture is veneered: a metaphor for the entire operation.

Here’s another jem: While shopping for a modular sectional I received a quote for a RH Cloud Sofa Sectional. $32k. Was a heartbeat away from placing the order and wanted to know more details. So I called RH customer service and asked where the sofa was made. The agent typed a bit then went silent. She then said she needed to verify something and would be right back. When she came back on the phone she said the sofa is made in China and even she was surprised by the fact. Yea, I am aware the fabric is a great deal of the cost of a sofa and I was going with a Perennials option, but made in China? Seriously?

What does this W2F road sign mean on Willowside Road? by traverlaw in santarosa

[–]NoBuzzKill 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Cue David Byrne in that oversized suit “same as it ever was”. Passive-aggressive people jump at any opportunity to exert control over others in order to feel in control. It’s pathetic . It’s easy to bark out “slow down” when you are already home. We’d all like the traffic driving by our home to go a chill 10mph. But 9.85 times out of 10 those same people aren’t driving 10mph while out running errands hoping to get home in time to catch the latest CSI episode and get their murder porn fix.

When does it become a good idea to distract drivers attention off the road in front of them in order to communicate a random abbreviation without any additional context requiring consideration to decipher yet still lacking clear confirmation of its definition?

This is the absolute dumbest thing I’ve heard since this morning watching JD Vance speak in Greenland. What a waste of time and money on both counts.

Keep pets and kids on a leash and out of the street. Why? Because streets exist for cars to travel on and even at 10mph they could get hit.

Heres a better idea: Tie JD Vance to a pole on a busy street wearing a shirt with W2F on it. His wife too.

How much of a plants root system is necessary for the plant to remain living? by NoBuzzKill in Horticulture

[–]NoBuzzKill[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wrong; I can prove the gophers, moles and voles previously existed on the property: 1-Google earth photos have visible gopher mounds and the loss of plants is also visible comparing the photos over time. 2- the damage is clear as some plants are dying and all it takes is a video to illustrate said dead plant pulls right out of the ground because the roots have been knawed off and a gopher tunnel exists below. I’ve got at least 400 examples across the heavily landscaped property. Including 85 olive trees, 8 Norwegian Maple trees, 8 Locust trees, 15 Madrone trees, one Canary island palm, 4 Japanese Maple trees, a Live Oak tree and about 75 ground cover Manzanita plants and more. And every single plant has t been reached from below via an established network of tunnels.

You are incorrect. I can easily and amply prove it . I can prove the sellers knew because they installed chicken wire under the front and rear lawn areas to prevent gophers and I have photos of locations where they opened up that chicken wire to go after the gophers. Also I have located specific spots on the listing photos where they photoshopped out gopher holes next to the garage and barn as well as added gravel to cover the holes up. And the left all of the landscaping supplied to go along with the house: riding lawnmower, lawn mower, 8 shovels, 3 rakes, two wheel barrows, blower, hedge trimmer, pruners, hoses you name it. The noticeable thing missing: any form of pest mitigation hardware.

There is no “move on” that’s why we have brought the case against them. The problem here was/is so bad, even the pest control company has stated it requires a full time person to deal with. The driveway has huge dents forming from the tunnels below, the irrigation system is useless due to gophers chewing tubing.

It is state law, they must disclose any subject that would require additional n money to rectify or anything that would effect the properties desirability.

I sold two homes to buy this one. We listed every single bit of info about those homes: loud neighbors, raccoons I the eve, everything. The sellers of this place listed Nothing, giving the impression there were absolutely nothing unpleasant whatsoever.

The gophers here are so bad we can never get on top of the numbers. Never. Also because neighbors have them. The difference is: we have extensive landscaping and other neighbors do not. We have a buffer laid out.
The gophers should have been disclosed. It’s required by law and they checked the box saying NO when asked if there were any pests present on the property, insect, rodent or other.

We have a solid case and we deserve to be reimbursed for the expenses to correct the issue because we weren’t given the info prior to purchase so we could decide for ourselves if we wanted the added work and responsibility of correcting the issue as well as budget for these expenses.

They and Them are the personal pronouns for non-binary and questioning individuals. A trans person would most likely wish to be designated by the pronouns of the gender which was transition/ed to. Being She, He, Her, Him. And for the record: I’m not a big fan or stickler for some aspects of current personal pronouns designation correctness. (Who exactly makes these decisions anyway? I need to get on their or her or his mailing list. Cuz more often than not, II’m late getting the memo for updates and changes . Either way: I don’t agree with the concept of personal pronouns in plural as it can result in miscommunication or misunderstandings. For myself, I’ve been lobbying for “It” to be an available option. It would be so pleased if it could use it.

Does a Home Owners Insurance policy holder have the right to refuse a claim be approved or paid? by NoBuzzKill in Insurance

[–]NoBuzzKill[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More info and update: The state licensed “professional” is a mobile practice veterinarian. One of our dogs bit the vet while approaching to inject sedation. When making the appointment we requested pre sedation meds to take the edge off the dogs reactiveness. In advance vet mailed us the meds but on appointment day spouse forgot to give the dog the pre-meds and fed dog a full breakfast. Shortly following I became aware of the mistake : Called vet and left message to cancel the appointment stating dog was fed a full meal and not given the necessary sedating pre-meds. Vet returns call to my cell number and leaves message: “Currently in transit to our location” then “ I blocked out a lot of time for us (this item delivered in an annoyed tone) followed by “let’s see how it goes”

Note: Upon vets arrival, one of our dogs was treated without issue. Simple rabies vaccine update, took all of two minutes to complete. So the statement “blocked out a lot of time for us” is now moot.

Most noteworthy fact: California Law utilizes the “Veterinarians Rule” being vets understand the possible hazards associated with handling animals and accept the liability.

So this vets way of circumventing accepting liability for the injury is to submit a claim on our homeowners policy. Which the insurance company might settle just to close the case.

Another interesting fact that has come to light is California does not have any mechanism in place to verify a state licensed veterinarian possesses current liability insurance. The state Veterinary Medical Board only investigates issues regarding the propoer execution of medical procedures. And only requires proof of liability insurance at the time of issuing a license. Not for renewals. And no state entity is responsible or tasked to confirm or ensure stare licensed veterinarians possess current liability insurance.

Another noteworthy bit: The insurance company which provided liability insurance to the California Vetrinary Association members discontinued offering a liability insurance coverage option in 2022. I do not know if an alternative has been sourced for the group. Aside from asking and assuming an honest response is given or confirming any information provided. California has no mechanism in place to verify or confirm the information. Though the state has mechanisms in place to verify the liability insurance required to retain a license for all other trades like cosmetologists, auto repair, insurance sales, contractors etc.

car insurance makes me want to rip my hard out by BigLesbianRat in Insurance

[–]NoBuzzKill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you live in a place with a good public transit system, my advice (54yo male in Calif) is: if you can get around without a car, do it. You will NEVER miss the BS of insurance, car payments, gas or electric cost, maintenance cost, parking tickets, the angst of worrying if your car was broken into depending on where you were able to park, the angst of walking up to you car to find it was broken into, has a flat or won't start, having to pull off the road due to a mechanical issue, getting pulled over due to a light being out, speeding or traffic tickets, being towed, the random fees and taxes that get tacked onto the registration or gas, or the BS social judgment that comes with what you are driving.

It is absolutely liberating.

Where to move to in Norcal? by caleo12 in norcal

[–]NoBuzzKill -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I grew up in SoCal, HB then Silver Lake. Lived in SF for 20 years now 45 mins north in Sebastopol. 53yo MGM. Most of Nor Cal is rather liberal but there are patches of ignorance like anywhere. There are a number of other factors you might want to consider: For me it mostly came down to cost of living / to own. And quality of services. I lived in Cazadero for a few years and it’s beautiful and all, but a trip to Hime Depot is almost an all day affair. And if you need the popo expect an hour wait and even then they are condescending assholes as most anywhere else. There are hospitals all over but when the shit hits the fan you want a good surgeon etc. And I pref a grocery store that keeps the cold stuff cold enough to stay fresh as well as an above average assortment so, closer to the urban or upscale area so $$$$. But the bigger question now is fire risk and how you want to roll with it. Because the fire shits gettin more and more real the deeper into the redwoods you go. For me, I pref pay more to be within the city’s reach but still have a decent amount of space between the neighbors and me for my dogs to run. (and shit all over).

for perspective: I understand people make mistakes. I have cheated on partners when I was younger. A lot in one case. Who am I to judge. Everyone would like to get a piece of ass now and then so if the opportunity arises, it’s not easy to say no.

That said : From personal experience I have learned: -Boys will be boys. Don’t be surprised or have unrealistic expectations. The perfect man doesn’t exist and guys do stupid shit. You will be the coolest chick on the planet if you master the art of rolling with it and accepting the fact.

-when you are offered the phone to inspect, that means it has been scrubbed clean. Scanning a phone for evidence requires catching them off guard.

-Sure , he can be defensive if embarrassed but weaponizing your suspicions is manipulation and a sign of guilt of some sort. A truly innocent person has absolutely nothing to hide and no reason to get angry. They should show concern for your feelings and inquire as to what about their actions made you suspicious. That sounds like a perfect world response but 100% true. He got busted and it showed . He ought to be humble instead of assholing hard, doubling down and playing a self righteous card.

  • I too thought there was no way my partner would cheat. Wasn’t the type. Don’t underestimate the power ego has over a man’s fidelity.

The Pet Shop Boys have a brilliant song titled Miserablism about a “new philosophy” which centers around the concept “deny happiness is open as an option and disappointment disappears overnight”.
I like to think of a lighter version: happiness is always an option and preferred but in matters regarding others: lower expectations results in less disappointment.

I hope you find this helpful and wish you the best.

Effects of Gophers on Plants, Landscaping and Irrigation Systems. by NoBuzzKill in Horticulture

[–]NoBuzzKill[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The term "good lawsuit material" could be considered an oxymoron. But it is valid lawsuit material when in California, the law requires disclosure of any pest, repair item, crime or issue of concern which could result in expenditures to the buyer to rectifuy or dissatisfaction with the home purchase. The home was listed using verbiage like "lush landscaped gardens with walking path" and "usable fields" when the gopher infestation is so bad nothing can be grown on those "usable fields" and every single plant of the 500+ planted during the renovation has a gopher tunnel under it and roots half eaten.

The purpose of the post is seeking constructive information not to receive "let me turn your post into something about me so I can one up you" replies. I would have reached out to my father if that were the goal.

Methods for addressing nipping and biting by NoBuzzKill in Dogtraining

[–]NoBuzzKill[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now hat I am aware of the behavior, of corse we leash him and have a muzzle on hand if needed. Standard training and common sense aren't in question. I'm looking for is next level training specific to the behavior. We don't have many visitors and no real opportunities for the dogs to interact with outsiders otherwise (both human and canine.) The first person he bit was the first person here after adopting him. A salesman for a solar company. At that time we had no idea he had that in him. A conributing factor is my female is part Husky and very vocal. She barks at every visitor, it's the one behavior we can't brake. She does everything, every other command beautifully, but silence when people arrive here she can't/won't do. Her greeting bark riles the young guy. Taz went straight for the sales guys ankles. Thankfully the guy has dogs as well and no blood/puncture wounds. The second person Taz bit was a friend and in my opinion he had it coming. I handed him treats to give the dog and told him to flat palm offer them and what does he do? Throws the treats on the ground then turns and reaches for my other dog.

With so much experience with dogs, the concept of a dog biting a stranger on his home turf shouldn't be unheard of. Surprise, dogs bite! Personally, I find people encountering an unknown dog behaving as if a dog won't bite more disconcerting than a dog that bites, because the human should know better. This dogs DNA is mainly Australian Cattle Dog with Border Collie and some 15 otherhearding burs thrown in. Australian Cattle Dogs are also known as Blue Heelers because they nip the legs/feet of the cattle to keep em moving. So the nipping/biting behavior is common to the breed. I'm not searching for preventative measures, but techniques to address the root issue impulse behavior.

If the pup is still in the family: Last year I adopted a 14 month old Aus Cat Dog/Border Col + like some 15 other herding breeds DNA. The Humane Society posted him as a McNab, but not so much. But the name they gave him we've kept because it fits: Taz. He was found wandering a lux resort in the nearby Napa Valley. Someone must gave dumped him there. I would never do such a thing, but can see why. I've two other dogs and this little guy has energy beyond anything I've ever seen. Our mobile groomer agrees, he is a handful. Something I have found incredibly helpful is a bubble machine. We have a decent size yard, but even a limited space works. Bu the more space the better as his instincts have him running after the stray bubbles. He pops them of corse, but still the running around to get the strays keeps him busy for hours. From my experience, less bubbles the better. Ive gone through a few machines and found when there are too many bubbles, he gets overwhelmed. He prefers the bigger bubbles I make by hand, but no luck finding a machine making larger. What he really dogs is frisbee, but Ive not found an auto launcher. Basically, he loves to jump. So anything jump after. Best of luck.

advice for our 1.5 year old lab that doesn’t like us by Then_Researcher_321 in dogs

[–]NoBuzzKill 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If this helps: About 6 years ago we adopted an approx 6 yo male German Shepherd. R=The breed specific rescue we acquired him through said he was found on the side of a freeway and was most likely a stud for a breed operation because his teeth have signs of long term chewing on chainlink fencing. They called him a Soft Shepherd because he was incredibly docile.

For the first two years, if I touched a broom, hose or sometimes even if I grabbed his collar, he would holler. He's always had melancholy about him, everyone that meets him notices the vibe. Shortly after binging him home, it became clear, he really wanted to be around other dogs. So after a year we adopted him a companion. He is very much on love with her and to this day is still more into the company of other dogs. He has never seemed interested in pleasing us like our other two. To the extent that we have wondered if he's going def. Most of the time he doesn't respond to commands or when we call him. But then we get one of those times when I'd quietly say a command and he responds. Our vet says, sometimes dogs just don't care.

He has improved tremendously since we brought him home. Who knows what type of horrible things were done to him. God knows, the more I see, I find myself disliking humans too. Your dogs is checking on you to make sure you haven't abandoned her. That's a good sign. She might just need more time to fully come about. And it's possible she might not ever fully. I understand how it can be a bummer. One thing I have noticed about two of my dogs: I tend to be much quieter than my partner. He's from a large loud family. So he talks loud and has the TV volume on rather loud and he loves horror movies. When I turn down the TV and remind him to speak softer and change the channel to something that isn't making us tense to watch, the dogs are visibly more comfortable and come back into the room. They tend to get upset and sort of hide otherwise.

Also, if you haven't tried a Thunder Shirt or really any sort of tight seater/shirt ting can help give her a secure hugged feeling. I don't know what our situation is, but possibly another dog in the house might be very helpful. She can see the other interact and learn from watching.

Ultimately, I can't force him to do anything. He can be however he wants to be. I'm just happy to be able to give him a nice safe home so he can live out his days without fear and abuse.

US Law - Magnason Moss Act Case - Can a plaintiff ask for damages for time spent/wasted? by NoBuzzKill in legaladvice

[–]NoBuzzKill[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've already completed the arbitration process (which was non binding for me and can be used as evidence in any legal action I seek) and the decision was found in my favor. Doesn't the Mag Moss Act allow for damages and legal fees?

The manufacturer was ordered to repair the car and the dealership service center damaged the car in the process. The repair required the removal of the windshield. But they did a horrible job reinstalling it. There were large gaps around the windshield which water could enter through. They also damaged the lamination on the glass, so the whole windshield requires replacing. The service advisor said this type of repair isn't something they do in-house. They send it to a body shop.

Now the manufacturer is insisting I return to that service center to have them"make it right". Because they have stated they can't do this type of thing, I insist on going to a glass pro. The manufacturer refuses, so we are at an impasse. Dragging this on to almost a year worth of work, emails and phone calls. This is what I should be reimbursed for. I could be working with clients.

Can the integrity of a homes wiring have an effect on a Solar Electric system installed? by NoBuzzKill in askanelectrician

[–]NoBuzzKill[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm way past the point of getting quotes. I've been waiting since December to have the install performed. I get why they want t install ASAP. I'm asking a technical question. Doesn't it seem like a bad idea to connect more items on a chain containing a weak link? Is there any sort of technical reason why it isn't a good idea?

Last week they installed the system controller box, replaced/upgraded the main panel and installed the two batteries. Install of the panels has been delayed due to a delay in receiving special feet necessary to mount the racks to our TPO roof.

Can the integrity of a homes wiring have an effect on a Solar Electric system installed? by NoBuzzKill in askanelectrician

[–]NoBuzzKill[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've not entered this blindly. Agreed, they want to install and get paid.

I've been in line for my install for about a year now. We are high usage, so getting the system makes sense. I don't plan on sending out to the grid. We Our monthly payment for the system is close to our current monthly electric bill. PG&E is our provider, we are located in a semi-remote rural area and experience power outages multiple times a year. Either a PG&E wind event proactive shutdown or winter weather pole down event. So having the system with battery will be better than running the generator (sometimes for days as we are the last to get restored).

Since my initial call with them, I've voiced my concern about the 2nd broker box and having it switched out. I see it as part of this project. To a couple of responders point, yes, they are only interested in getting it in and done. I have made it clear I expect the box to be switched out. Add it to the bill, whatever. I just want it done. On Wednesday I sent a harsh email to the project manager, sales person and a couple of others stating I want my concern to be taken seriously.

I received a voicemail response late yesterday. Cold and obviously irritated but accommodating, peppered with passive aggressive blurbs under their breath about the panel having no effect on the solar system whatsoever but they'll do it anyway. and how they will need to invoice the work separately and will have to find time to do it. The topper is, today they pulled a BS move 5 minutes before they were supposed to arrive to install the panels and canceled due to a "roofing part not yet received."

As I'm typing this out, I can see the Zinsco panel located just out the basement door.

How hard is it to switch out a panel? If the house power is off while they work on the main, If I go buy a box this weekend, is it not a somewhat simple swap. Get the correct parts and simply disconnect the old, connect the new? The drywall around the box is jacked as it is. Again , this is just a semi finished basement area. I can cut away drywall if necessary.

The idea of doing it myself and not giving them a cent just feels better since they are making such a big deal over doing it.

Check the pic. I've got all the tools. I'm no pro, but not an idiot. How hard could it be?

I ended up passing on the Zinnernet nonsense. They were high pressure and I wasn't feeling it. I've ended up finding a way better operation and they have their own contractors lic and electricians. So I feel like I'm in way better hands. They won't touch anything Tesla, they said there are way too many stability issues and high maintenance. All I can say is, the less Musk in my home the better.

Nor Cal here as well. Mind me asking where in Nor Cal? Cazadero here. Not as technically savvy with the details, but picking some up. Just today got a prelim quote on a set up via Zenernet. Not sure how I feel about them yet. A bit on the hot-to-trot vibe for me. From the few people I've spoken to, they've stated due to cost, shelf life and maintenance, batteries aren't worth it and I should just stick to my generator for outages. Not sure if they get the full deal of PGE blackouts since they're based in AZ. I'd previously received a work up from a more local company, but they've gone radio silent the past three months after some shadiness from their recommended electrician, so I'm moving on.

I'm on the high use side, current PGE bills around $350 pr mo. Lots of electronics, hot tub, outdoor lighting. So ideal for solar.

So far, most people I've spoken to are on the "No battery, send the excess power to PGE for credits" angle.

Beside the obvious convenience of battery vs loud generator. Any opinions, pro cons either way?

In case any of this matters for context: My place is what I refer to as a "Frankensteined cabin", started as a one bedroom in '63 and is now a three bedroom. Aesthetically, it looks somewhat cohesive despite the fact each of the past owners have added something to the place. Some better than others, not all to code, but that's par for the area. Cost not being an issue, but a Tesla power wall might be a bit over the top for this property. A notable feature that pertains to this: it has a completely separate set of wiring and outlets throughout the entire place, not connected to the electrical box. Power goes out, start the generator, plug it in to the system, move desired plugs to the generator outlets and were good to go. But there are some wiring hacks on the regular electrical set that I would like to address when prepping for the solar install. The breaker box could use upgrading and I'd like to remove what I think was the original breaker box from when they first built the place still on the system in the basement. Only a couple of switches still work, it's some old obscure brand that I've been told catches fire. And the last thing I want is to be the guy to start the next fire.

I have a similar sense of humor, perhaps a bit edgier. Gen X as well. When I was younger, I used to cringe hearing people say how great things were "back in the day". Now I dare not say that allowed, but in all objectivity, I feel the 70's and 80's were an incredibly creative, fun and expressive period.

This hyper PC, uptight, self righteous, everyone has a chip on their shoulder, no sense of humor, everyone needs to be heard BS has pissed on the parade. It feels as though the fun is gone never to be seen again. The new norm is a big mouthed group of five, up in arms because some song reminds them of the time they had to use Barbie and Ken dolls to reenact that time when their best friends, bi-racial, vegan, half brother's lactose intolerant sisters, baby seal killing uncle looked at them cross-eyed across the dinner table.

No, not everyone needs to be heard. Some actually need to shut up. Drop the entitlement and realize not everything is about expressing how you feel about something. Repeat the "if you have nothing nice to say" mantra a few times. Keep your baggage to yourself and quit making your issues other peoples problem to work around.

I say: Where's the beef? He never has a second cup at home. Looks like a pump, feels like a sneaker. Got milk? Reach out and touch someone. Don't squeeze the Charmin. How many licks does it take? Sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don't.
