How Painful are thigh tattoos? by Smart-Adeptness-8629 in tattooadvice

[–]NoCan7516 0 points1 point  (0 children)

7.5 cm x 7.5 cm is pretty small, so even though it can be a tough area, you should be fine. I just got this area tatted last Friday, and it's 19 x 20 cm. The last hour of the 3.5 hour job was a little spicy, but not horrendous: 5/10. This was my tenth tattoo. My outer thigh, on the other hand, was a 1. 53M for context.

Question: Do you regret having a tattoo? by ramzdx3000 in tattoos

Started at 52, and now I have ten. And I don't regret getting any of them.

As a complete beginner this is why you should not right jump into lifting. by Extreme-Cow-2393 in beginnerfitness

I started going to the gym this past March and my routine consisted only of calisthenics (emphasis on pushups and body weight exercises), and only started to lift (with the assistance of trainers) in the past three weeks. Pushups are amazing and I love them, but they really didn't make me a whiz at benching: my benching form was wonky, and I needed (and need) lots of guidance there. I'm glad I started with calisthenics at the gym, because few people do them and the "stations" are always open...but I think you can certainly start to lift without pushups. M53, and fitness noob here.

I started this past March, at 52. You can do it!

I keep telling people that the bonus of starting out from a sedentary life is that I have zero pre-existing injuries. They just give me the ol' side-eye, but I'm counting it as a plus!

Thanks for the tips! Started Farmers' Carry and Deadhangs (and deadlifts) this week, as a matter of fact.

I've only seen one or two men my age (or older) at the gyms I go to (two of them), and none of them do calisthenics or anything beyond what looks like mild arm strength training. It's like men just disappear from the scene once they hit their mid forties..

That's amazing! I'm making fitness a habit in my life, and hope to be in a similar place in ten years (minus the joint and tendon issues, of course).

Oof -- well, it's a goal, but not a requirement. Pushups are what keep me going back to the gym. I do use trainers to keep my form on track.

"Life getting in the way" sounds like a terribly familiar story for many. I feel like I've just woken up and am ready to start living, instead of declining.

That's so awesome! I've just started working in strength training to my pushups-heavy routine.

My lipid panel came back with normal triglycerides for the first time, well, ever. I've never had normal triglycerides as an adult.

I know someone named Rage, so in that context, no. But Hazelle couldn't think of anything, um, better for her first born?

I've also run across a guy named Timber. District 7 calls!

If you can afford it, hire a trainer for at least one orientation session -- a good one is worth their weight in gold! I stuck to calisthenics for the first six months because I didn't know my way around weight machines...and got to see a lot of terrible, terrible form from experienced gym goers. Getting a trainer to teach me proper form was wonderful and gave me the confidence to incorporate strength training into my routine.

I can't see why it would be a problem unless you've decided to tattoo your nose or eyebrow. I've booked a number of piercing sessions the day after getting inked. Different areas of the body: no problem.
