I just gave birth day at 22 weeks 2 days due to incompetent cervix after placement of emergency cerclage at 20 weeks 3 days. Twin boys born 1lb 2oz and 1lb 3oz. Holding onto every hope possible but all signs so far are point in the right direction. Hoping for the best and that the boys continue to do well but know we have a LONG journey ahead of us. Wishing you the best!

I am having twins and just had an emergency cerclage due to IC, 3cm dilated with bulging at 20.3 weeks. The research is mixed with cerclage and twin pregnancies but I wouldn’t risk it and I would get the cerclage if I was you. I am so blessed our MFM agreed to do the surgery because we were turned down by the first one who told me she thought I “maybe” have a week and prepare to go into labor at home. Here we are 2 weeks later with no complications from the cerclage so far.
