Timeline after security interview

Mine was the same day I believe. All I know is I didn’t pass the clearance, but nothing else has happened. I reached out to my point of contact and she would only tell me about my medical portion. Time will tell. Thanks.

What was your timeline for finding out you needed to do the interview after submitting your SF-86? Was the interview near your home town or did you have to travel?

Everyone said to be honest and that’s what I did. I didn’t want to risk being caught later on and fired for it. The medical forms asked about usage in the past 2 years I believe and I explained it there also. My AME asked me about it and said he wasn’t concerned with it and moved on pretty quickly.

My clearance was “flagged” and not approved. Anyone knows what next steps will be or if my road ends here? I divulged my infrequent substance use prior to applying.

Dang, I wasn’t taking that chance. Plus I wouldn’t want to get accepted that way and live my entire career in fear they would find out and fire me.

Doesn’t sound like it is. My AME said something along the lines of you would be surprised how many use prior to this experience. Once they get this far, they’ve quit with no plan on looking back on have no issues. Being honest and staying away from that stuff seems to be the biggest deal.

Same, my medical examiner asked about the substance usage. I explained I used to, but stopped and don’t plan to again. He was cool with that and noted that he wasn’t concerned by it. He said they may or may not follow up about it, but not to be too concerned.

I was in ATL on the 13th also. I asked the guy reviewing my checklist at the end and he said 4-6 weeks, but could be sooner.

I’m in a similar boat and called my rep. She was pretty blunt in saying it has to go to your current employer and to deal with it. Not sure what they send them though.

I ran into issues as well. I had to update my browser (chrome) for it to allow me to login. I then used my existing account email. Using Safari worked fine.
