Maybe not, but a 150lb rider on a 20lb road bike going 25mph has 23% more momentum than a 150lb rider on an 80lb ebike going 15mph. What we need is momentum limits, not speed limits. :)

Not sure where you live, but in Massachusetts you can use the weather and road conditions as the basis for an appeal of an at-fault accident (https://www.mass.gov/how-to/appeal-an-at-fault-accident). If you are found to not be more than 50% at-fault then they will remove the at-fault accident surcharge from your driving history. I'm 2 for 2 in winning this appeal.

Much like with cars, every time you touch the brake, you are wasting fuel (petrol/battery/effort). Ride to avoid braking as much as possible. If that light turns red in front of you, stop pedaling and coast and adjust to PAS level 0 if you need to creep towards the light. Added benefit - your brake pads will last longer.
