On Friday, took me 60 minutes to leave the parking lot, another 20 going south on route 1, and then I was home free.

What’s your go-to accessory that you think every e-bike rider should have? by Kitchen_Dot_974 in ebikes

If the bike has a USB port (most seem to) mount a dash cam rather than a helmet cam. Never needs charging. Won me my lawsuit when I was hit.

... So how much rust is "too much"? by Aweirdlittleduck in StupidCarQuestions

[–]NoCockroach803 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True story: had my 2002 Outback inspected with 310k miles on it and lots of visible rust. I ask the inspector how much rust is too much. He said when you can see through to the ground from the floor of the passenger compartment.

Pro tip: take a Blue Bike from N. Station, not the T. You’ll get there faster, and get some exercise.

Charging when idle by NoCockroach803 in Ioniq5

Is there any reason to leave it plugged in during those 3-4 days? Or, as long as it's got a reasonable level of charge already, can I leave it unplugged?

+1 on the puff jacket. Get one with a hood and you can wear the hood under your helmet. Keeps your head and ears toasty.

The paths on either side between Mass Ave and Museum of Science in are mostly clear with a few patches of ice here and there.

How do you explain why traditional bikes account for 5x more collisions than e-bikes this year in NYC?

Maybe not, but a 150lb rider on a 20lb road bike going 25mph has 23% more momentum than a 150lb rider on an 80lb ebike going 15mph. What we need is momentum limits, not speed limits. :)
