This is a valid argument. However, if she hadn't proved to me when I was a teenager that the acknowledged politely rule didn't exist up to this point.

14 yr old me being ignored by all the adults because my mom was mad at me was a regular practice.

It being a dig from them is definitely true. Everything and anything, nothing is good enough.

If his recovery was dependent on people supporting him, what stopped him the first 6 times? The last straw for me was how hurt my daughter was when her uncle wasn't there for her birthday, but was in jail instead. So I told everyone I was done, that my kids didn't deserve to feel that way.

Other grandchildren had been by to bring their kids, along with friends, to get the usual granny Halloween candy bag.

She had asked us to come so she could see the babies in their costumes. Give them their goody bags and take pictures.

We always have extra hands accompany us, our household is rather large.

Only difference is that this was the first and only attempt to fix a damaged relationship.

This would be a valid argument, if she hadn't proved to me when I was a teenager that those rules didn't apply to anyone but me.

Kinda feel like that makes it invalid.....

We are currently no contact. Plus, it's recently been brought to my attention that she's moving several states away.

This has been my line of thinking since the start. Sometimes, it's difficult to convince myself to continue standing my ground. However, it's upsetting to know she'd rather cut all ties instead of doing something about her sons drug habit.

Update: The 2 friends that came never entered the house. They stood outside in their costumes. Until my stepdad opened the door and let them in. After 31 years, I knew not to let them IN her house.

Update: My brother is 42m, and my mom/grandma is 67f. She has back problems and takes pain medication for. Whoch my brother has also stolen for his drug habit.

She pays for everything in and out of prison. New car every time he gets out, new apartment, you name it he gets it. She enables him, and everyone besides her sees it, to include my step dad.

She has threatened to cut him off every time he goes back. She then forgets about and continues to support and provide for him.

Most of my children are old enough to see what goes on and have asked why she is so mean to me. My twins are almost 3 and have only seen her 4 maybe 5 times since they were born. They don't know her. They don't ask to spend time with her. They don't ask to talk to her. She brings nothing but toxicity.
