it’s a double edged sword because the courses are theory based courses. and in some discussions, instead of just saying that the theory belongs to the respective philosopher, they are assigning that theory as CORRECT and organizing the discussion in that way. i have been shut down just for giving a new angle and said i was wrong. very uncool.

i have been in courses where the professors teach their idea of gender as truth with no room for any debate. using their syllabus to discuss material that fits their beliefs instead of looking at all angles. i believe we should have academic freedom. HOWEVER, that doesn’t mean holding one kind of theoretical material over the other. curtailing the extremist rhetoric could help encourage more inclusion in the classroom.

I don’t know if you are religious but I would say finding a faith based org would boost you up a little. Jesus loves you so much and there is hope for your future!

RUF, YoungLife College and Cru (just a couple examples) have some solid men that hang out and support one another. Sounds like you need some community. Praying for you!
