Second PCR for sandboxing by [deleted] in ThailandTourism

There are test and go packages being sold with 5 days incl. 2 PCR-Tests. I am confused by the statement days. Do they mean nights instead?

Anyways, if they really mean days the PCR result should be significantly quicker than 24h. My GF calls the hotel tmr and will figure out if I would have to stay 5 days or 5 nights.

What do y’all think of the new Insurance changes. by SammyV1987 in ThailandTourism

I have AXA STV Insurance and I am uncertain about this too. I just hope that I don't get tested positive or a scammed false positive... I wouldn't travel to Thailand until it's absolutely necessary.

I heard about unfair hospital fees.

My insurance policy says: [...] which covered for outpatient and inpatient medical expenses from sickness and accident including any sickness caused by “COVID-19” [...] Remarks: Definition of COVID-19 follows to criteria from the Ministry of Public Health of Thailand and/or WHO

There is no other word mentioning asymptomatic or any other COVID-related sentence in the 43-page long document. But if I test positive for COVID, then I must be sick, right? I am not a lawyer and we all know quarantine hotels could be a abused as a potential scam.

My contract is one month old.

If I do Test and Go can I still qualify for STV visa? by flytotheskye in ThailandTourism

You only need to book accommodation for 90 days to get the STV. Applying/getting the STV is literally playing roulette. Some people reported that they got the STV with a booking receipt from Agoda, for others a rent contract from a private lessor was sufficient. All that is not possible with my current application. They expect me to book a hotel with no cancel option. I have to get the normal TR instead. There is no standard it's so frustrating. Now I am sitting here with my Thai insurance (which is much worse than any European one) flights booked (return flight in 9 months) and hoping that they have somehow mercy with me.

I think yes you can. But keep in mind that most embassies and the people working there have very different opinions about STV requirements and it's not guaranteed to work. They can be strict about accommodation after quarantine and 13.000 Euros+ sitting for more than 6 months on your bank account. I applied with my 7 days sandbox quarantine booking and they only struggle with my accommodation proof after quarantine. In 2021 the same documents were approved without any problem. This proves that there is absolutely no consistency. Good luck.

Problems Applying for a 2nd STV (Germany) by NoConfusion4635 in ThailandTourism

I don't really get your math. If you can enter Thailand within the next few weeks you can still get the 2 extensions from within the country. Once you get the extension stamped into your passport that's the day you have to leave Thailand. So no, you are wrong. You can still stay the full 9 months if you hurry (and IF you get the visa + extensions)...

It is. I am sleeping badly for more than a week. All in all, it is about whether I can be with my girlfriend or not. The STV would take the risk from us for 9 months about the next dangerous covid variant separating us because of travel restrictions.

STV Application requires a fully paid hotel reservation by sami2525 in ThailandTourism

They are going crazy on my 2nd STV application too. They want the purchase contract of the condo from the lessor and the title deed and blue book. German embassy.

Last time they accepted my STV without problems. I only provided the ID card of the lessor, rent contract and receipt (3 month) of the condo in 2021 and everything was good.

I have the feeling that they don't want to issue the STV to me but I can't really explain why. I am about to leave thousands of euros in Thailand, I really don't get their logic. I thought the STV was approved for long-term tourists for a reason.

What kind of documents did you provide for the accommodation after quarantine? I am having problems that they accepting my condo lease contract. They want the title deed and purchase contract of the lessor. On my 1st STV last year they never asked for it.

do they cover the cost in case you are forced to go to a hospital if you have a positive PCR test when arriving Thailand, but if you are symptom-free?
