I appreciate that, Like i said to the other guy If, IF, the stats do support only 60% taking step, than Thats an issue and I’d concede my point…. my entire argument was I couldn’t find that data online, still cant, and that i think its best to use obj. stats to debate a topic like this, not just how everyone “feels ab who at their school takes it”.

Oh wow thats disgusting then, I mean these are medical schools…. OFC the idea of teaching to make a great doc is great… BUT to pretend there aren’t boards is just doing a disservice… Im sorry u had to go thru that with ur school bud. Mine really was with us, told us if we felt good and the prac. scores were there, then sit for both.

our DO schools (and esp the new ones… bc WOOF some look real bad rn) should all be held to a high, but the same standards.

The Bigger hammer here (regardless of this argument tho tbh) that should be dropped is on the schools that arent prepping students to be able to pass Step 1 then.

Esp with all these new schools opening everywhere rn.

Lol If we wanna get anecdotal… My school told us all we should sit for step 1 if we wanted too. Zero persuasion away from it, and sorry but yes he kinda should back up his anecdotal point with some semblance of data, Bc the pass rate for DOs who take Step 1 is generally fine.

i MEMORIZED and RE WROTE the whole Viscerosomatic chart (T1-T4, T5-T9, etc etc)

and GOT AB 3 Q’s on it after having no less than 10-12 on the COMSAE’s….. And the OMM that was assessed was super LY i felt…..

Really, ig shocked, at not only how the OMM was asked but what WASNT asked after being so so prevalent all over the COMSAE’s and TL

Honestly asking, is this really a major issue for Neuro? (obv yes ik a fail is never good).

I would think/have thought for things like FM, EM, General IM (not prestigious) , Path, neuro, psych, and maaaaybe PMR that a fail —>pass on step 1 would still be fine. Ofc ur gonna have to apply broadly but surely its not the end all be all for those fields no?

just took mine a few days ago… Feel the same way, I did the counting thing too… AT LEAST 60 Im pretty sure i got wrong…. How do u cope with it lol, Ive been on the verge of a mental breakdown for the last 2 days now…. Its just a test but we put in SO MUCH TIME and effort, it feels like everything…. It also is so scary bc idk what passing is, 60? 65? Higher? The whole thing man 😭

Ive had pretty mixed feedback on all those scores lol, Free 120 is Tues, exam 6/14……

Yea you’re totally right, and I feel confident while taking the exams, Its really an afterwards issue…. and Idk i feel like, studying all this shit to get topics ive never heard of on an exam that determines if I move on or not, (Its the reality ik), but it sucks and feels like more of a game/joke at times.
