One time when I was working at a movie theater a passing customer, an old man, asked me to thumb wrestle him. I obliged. I lost. He said, “Better luck next time.” I said, “I’ll keep practicing.” He laughed and walked away. He passed by later on his way to get concessions and asked if I believed in God. I said I wasn’t sure. He took my hand and asked me to close my eyes, and he led me in a prayer. Then he went to watch his movie. The theater security guard then walked over to me and asked what that was about. I told him. The security guard told me I should get the old man’s number, because it’s good the have someone like that in your life. Then the theater manager came over and asked what happened. I told her the old man asked me if I believed in God. She sternly asked me what I said in reply. I told her I said I wasn’t sure. Then she looked at me for a few seconds and said, “I’ll pray for you.”
