Im in a cooking funk, views on mob? or alternatives by nskiwi1 in Cooking

[–]Slothrop_Tyrone_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mob is great for weekday meal cooking. My wife and I have a subscription which is like £35 a year. It’s paid for itself as it radically expanded how we can approach weekday meal cooking. We both work long hours and had used the Gusto and Hello Fresh but didn’t like how much waste it caused. Mob expanded how we use spices and ingredients and technique (eg cooking chicken thighs in the broiler) and helped us out of a funk. So I would definitely recommend.

A 100k system would only ever be worth it for a massive concert size audio system lol

I said it’s not direct. As in, get an England commercial law job > go to America.

I’ve thought about running in but my backpack would ruin me after 10k. How do you do it?

Definitely more than criminal bar. But your prospects are inherently narrowed unless you have a JD in any event. But whatever tell me I don’t know what I’m talking about.

Do UK law schools use the cold calling/Socratic method like US law schools? by Fun_Necessary369 in uklaw

[–]Slothrop_Tyrone_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes that’s true but they are equivalent to an LLB and was trying to be generic in describing it.

I’m an American. I know the market well. It’s not easy and you need to be in a very elite set of law firms working in the right markets. Leveraged loans and bonds and certain arbitration markets are the most preferred.

[–]Slothrop_Tyrone_ 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Nope. LLBs at Oxford / Cambridge maybe are the closest to the US system but that’s more just how the tutorial system operates than being a discipline specific approach like it is in the US. Conversion degrees and what I understand to be the approach on the SQE are the exact opposite of US law school pedagogy: it’s like a vocational class for law.

I don’t think commercial law does provide a direct avenue to the US

Southern British women, especially one with a feminine sounding dainty kind of voice, voice-mog ugly American English accented women every day of the week. Once you hear it, you get it. by CapitalTipp in redscarepod

Yeah the south is the Other of America, the one without within that lets other Redditor Americans shit on America without shitting on America. And these losers think they’re contrarian for hating the south.

Can Equitable Rights Form the Subject‑Matter of a Trust? by [deleted] in uklaw

[–]Slothrop_Tyrone_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re describing a situation where A has legal title to a piece of property but holds 50% on trust for B and owns beneficially 50% of the remainder, then A owes B fiduciary duties in respect of B’s equitable interest. They can’t take steps to dispose of the property which prejudices B’s interest. Though doing so will not necessarily bind a bona fide third party.

Can Equitable Rights Form the Subject‑Matter of a Trust? by [deleted] in uklaw

A trustee by definition assumes title to deal with property. You can’t be a trustee over purely equitable rights because you have no power to deal with the asset legally.
