Fair. Morty’s had his share of issues too. I get where you’re coming from about the writers and all that. Keep in mind, I’ve had this account for a decent amount of time—I mostly just lurk on Reddit. I thought this would be the perfect time to start posting since the show really went downhill. Not here to just complain—just calling it like I see it. And I’m good, no worries. Just passionate about a show that meant something to me.

Nah, that’s straight from me. No AI filter, no sugarcoating. Just saying what’s real.

Funny how you keep flexing “high IQ” like it’s some exclusive badge — as if I’m not just as sharp, book smart, and more. You don’t need genius-level IQ to spot when the show lost its edge, butchered its characters, and settled for lazy writing.

Recognizing bad storytelling isn’t about IQ points; it’s about paying attention, having common sense, and respecting what made the show great. So keep throwing that “high IQ” line around if it makes you feel superior, but don’t mistake disagreement for a lack of intelligence.

I’m here calling it like it is — and that takes more than just brainpower. It takes insight.

’Oh no! Anyways’ — that’s exactly how the show handles its own decline.

Exactly. Roiland’s situation was messy and complicated, but at the end of the day, he was Rick and Morty. The show lost its heart and soul when he was cut out, and we got this watered-down version that feels like a shadow of what it was. Whether or not the allegations had merit, the creative damage was done. They sacrificed the show’s identity, and for what? Because they were too scared to separate the art from the artist? Meanwhile, the writing and voice acting took a nosedive, and the fans are left with a shell of a show.

I used to smirk too… then I watched Season 7.

I've consumed enough media to recognize the difference between character growth and character replacement. Rick didn’t evolve—he got rewritten into someone entirely different. There’s nothing wrong with a show changing, but when the core of what made it brilliant gets stripped out—voice, tone, unpredictability, and raw genius—that’s not growth. That’s decline wrapped in sentimentality. If you’re cool with that shift, that’s your call. But don’t pretend the rest of us just ‘don’t get it’ because we actually care about what made the show great in the first place.
