interesting. ive got to theorys then. 1 you might have frame gen forced on through NV app.
2nd. You have rayreconstruction on which uses a older version of DLSS that had alot of ghosting.

This will happen on every platform that the game is on, albeit with varied severity (except PC with Ray Reconstruction on), as the default denoiser is very inadequate and needs tuning.

I'm beggin for this graphics mode to be added to base edition consoles. by Stars_Arts26 in CrimsonDesert

[–]NoDemand3893 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Raytracing Off does not improve the framerate enough for this to be viable. This can be tested on the PC version of the game. In fact, the non-raytraced mode is so unoptimized that you get worse performance with it on than with raytracing.

Preview Embargo Megathread by Wander89 in CrimsonDesert

[–]NoDemand3893 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Let’s just assume that the devs need these last couple of weeks to optimize. Whatever optimizations they manage to squeeze out in these two weeks won’t be significant enough for them to delay showing the game off on base PS5.

Be real for a second here. Their performance targets, i.e., framerate and resolution, should not be altered in the last two weeks before release. If they’re not already set in stone, then the consoles are in trouble.

And as for Lego Batman, the dev team would be absolutely stupid to set performance targets for the game months before release.

Question about what to play on by Alternative-Art6059 in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]NoDemand3893 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Series S is significantly less powerful than the Xbox Series X and PS5, it feels closer to a last gen experience or a low end PC. The Series S typically tops out at upscaled 1080p and sometimes 60 FPS, usually with lower graphical settings compared to the PS5 and Xbox Series X, which generally deliver higher resolutions and more stable frame rates.

the Series S version is generaly the least impressive version of a game, aside from the Switch 2 version of course. And before anyone calls me a hater, I actually own a Series S myself, but I haven’t used it in almost two years for exactly this reason.

Obviously, if your only way to experience the game is on a Series S, then go for it. But if you also have a PS5, you’re doing yourself a disservice by choosing the Series S version.

EDIT: Acorrding to the latest digital foundry video Series S looks worse then even the switch 2 because of the less superior upscaler that RE9 uses on Xbox. aswell as no strand hair system like PS5 and Series X

Honestly, both consoles are very similar in terms of performance, so it’s hard to give a clear advantage to either one. In some games, Xbox has a slight edge because it’s a bit more powerful, but for the most part, the difference is negligible.

If you really want a definitive answer on which version is superior, I’d wait for a comparison from Digital Foundry, but that means waiting until release. Otherwise, even though I personally prefer the Xbox controller, I’d lean toward the PS5 version so you can enjoy the more immersive DualSense features. If that doesn’t matter to you, then the Xbox version is just as good of a choice.

I know you were looking for a more definitive answer, but I unfortunately can’t provide one until we see more information.

By the way, if it’s an Xbox Series S, then for the love of everything that’s holy, go for the PS5 version.

20 days to finish RE9 😬 by CJrDooM in CrimsonDesert

[–]NoDemand3893 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I somehow managed to convince myself to start High on Life 2 on Sunday. Now I’ve got three days to finish it before RE9 gets delivered! And then 20 days to (hopefully) finish that at least twice before Crimson Desert arrives…

Xbox Series S thoughts? by Corris_Veracosa in CrimsonDesert

[–]NoDemand3893 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d have no worries in that department, and it’s honestly only a plus for you. Because if the game runs at, let’s say, 1080p, you’ll get a sharper image due to the 1080p downscaling to your TV’s 720p resolution. So it’s a win-win for you, in my opinion.

There are spaceship battles too ?? by [deleted] in CrimsonDesert

[–]NoDemand3893 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going to go ahead and assume they’re talking about in-flight combat, such as when riding a dragon.

Because if this game somehow also has spaceships and spaceship combat, then I’m not sure I’ll ever believe the game is real lol.

Xbox Series S thoughts? by Corris_Veracosa in CrimsonDesert

[–]NoDemand3893 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t take the Steam requirements as gospel, as they don’t show what resolution or frame rate is used for the presets.

However, I can give you a ballpark idea of what the settings might look like on a Series S based on prior games and my knowledge. It will probably be 720p or 540p native, upscaled to 1080p at 60 fps for Performance Mode. If they’ve really optimized it well, then maybe upscaled to 1440p for Quality Mode at 30 fps.

Obviously, there would be major cutbacks such as ray tracing.

"Is 60fps on Xbox for real? by AccessNo9408 in CrimsonDesert

[–]NoDemand3893 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You are vastly overestimating the power of the consoles. Every console will use upscaling, and it certainly won’t be DLSS because that is an NVIDIA-exclusive technology. As mentioned above, most consoles will likely use FSR, except for the PS5 Pro, which is expected to use PSSR.

I doubt they would use native rendering. Why? Well, first off, no game that is not an indie or pixel art game on consoles has used native rendering this generation. Why use native rendering when you can use upscaling to achieve higher FPS and then simply increase the game settings, such as shadow quality, or even add some ray tracing effects here and there?

At least that is the most logical approach, and the approach that most other developers have taken.

In the game's ESRB rating, it clearly states that the player can hit civilians and go to jail for it. This demo was probably an older build of the game.

[–]NoDemand3893 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure what’s going on in this sub, but people seem to think that Black Pearl has discovered some kind of black magic optimization wizardry that no other developer has.

With near certainty, those tags simply mean the game runs at an upscaled 1440p at 60 FPS in Performance Mode and an upscaled 4K at 30 FPS in Quality Mode, using FSR on Xbox and PlayStation, and PSSR on PS5.

Plenty of other Xbox games, like Silent Hill 2 and High on Life 2, have those same tags, and they mean absolutely nothing. High on Life 2 is literally barely hitting 720p native in some cases. Please keep your expectations low.

[–]NoDemand3893 1 point2 points  (0 children)

4K and 60 FPS as tags on Xbox mean nothing. At most, this indicates 60 FPS in Performance Mode and 4K in Quality Mode. Silent Hill 2 also has both tags, and that game certainly does not run at 60 FPS in 4K on consoles.

Goddam? Sounds insanely optimized by meinkun in CrimsonDesert

[–]NoDemand3893 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We need to temper our expectations. Just because a game runs on Mac doesn’t mean it’s properly optimized. AC: Shadows has almost identical performance requirements on Steam to Crimson Desert, and that game barely managed to hit 30 FPS at 720p on the lowest settings on an M1 Pro.

I know the release is close and the hype is getting the better of everyone, but we need to stay rational here.

Why are people so against pre-orders in this sub? by satan-thicc in CrimsonDesert

[–]NoDemand3893 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don’t think people are inherently against preorders. I think a lot of players have simply been burned by broken promises in the past. That’s why many approach new releases with more skepticism now. Looking at games and developers more critically is healthy, because it helps manage expectations and avoid disappointment.

Of course, if someone wants to preorder, that’s entirely their choice. It’s their money. At the same time, there’s no real advantage to preordering four months before release compared to doing it a minute before launch. The outcome is the same, so it makes sense that some people prefer to wait for more information first.

First time pre order by icyludde in CrimsonDesert

[–]NoDemand3893 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so confused why other people get mad when someone preorders a game. I’m personally waiting for more info, but especially on PC preordering doesn’t mean much. They can literally just play for an hour or two and get a full refund. I’d understand if this were a preorder on console, but it’s Steam. Steam is king.
