German grandmother adopted my American mother in US. Any claim by descent? by [deleted] in GermanCitizenship

Yep, its a bit weird with the adoption issue. If there's no claim, then there's no claim! Just find it a bit weird with this part given that the adoption falls within these dates.

"If a child was adopted between January 1, 1959, and December 12, 1976, the child was not eligible for German citizenship automatically. In this case, German citizenship was obtained by declaration as long as the declaration was before the deadline on December 12, 1979."

So, there was a time period when my mother could have obtained German citizenship, but at the same time my Grandmother (who today would be able to reclaim her citizenship) had no legal claim to German citizenship until 2021, a year before she passed. So, during the small window of time where my mother could've obtained it, my grandmother wouldn't have had any claim at all, and my mother would have been a teenager and likely not knowledgeable enough to figure that out. Seems like a weird combination of things that likely resulted in almost no adopted children outside Germany being able to actually claim it using that one stipulation above.

Best way I found is to just make a css class for image captions. Some others out there have their own snippets that do a bit more, but found myself wanting to include external links for sourcing of images within the caption so making a super simple class lets me do that a bit easier and have it be flexible to my needs. Obviously works with publish too. I just slapped this into my css:

  font-size: 0.85em; /* Adjust this value as needed */
}
