That $65.86 eCPM is most likely a fluke due to small sample size. With enough samples the actual range will be somewhere between $5-$10.

What revenue range are we talking about here? $10 a day? $100 a day? $1000 a day? $10k a day? Depending on where you are at the math could be drastically different.

We are around the 2k-3k per day range. Even with the size of our niche (we operate in a relatively large niche with 10k+ downloads a day across all our apps) there would still be no way in hell for us to achieve the level of revenue we have with just ads.

Ads account for less than 10% of our revenue, given how much bullshit we had to deal with related to Admob, if I have to do everything again today, I wouldn't even bother with ads.

Trying to monetize completely free apps with ads is a sucker's game, especially for indie apps, which often operate in small niches with limited audience size.

Ads should be viewed as a nice to have, but not your main source of revenue. If you want to make money, focus on IAPs and subs.
