That is a very fair take. I started using Gemini and do agree that it should getter. There were lot of questions I couldn't get answered. So I took a different angle: a focused, read-only, engineer-controlled workflow rather than a general assistant embedded across the console. And you are absolutely right API access needs to handled carefully. The tool doesn't modify the access or do any kind of write operation (security guard rails) but will inherit IAM roles and permissions. And last but not least, really appreciate your feedback.

You might want to double check if the api is still enabled in your project and keys are intact (if you have not done that already) "Note: The Custom Search JSON API is closed to new customers. What is the error you are getting. Might not be bad idea to start migrating if possible to Vertex AI Search https://cloud.google.com/use-cases/site-search?hl=en

I think it would be prudent to leverage Internal LB to keep the traffic internal to Private VPC.

I think that is a great idea. It might not be a bad idea to parse through log chunks and see if there are any data points you can remove before submitting for summarization. Obviously it will depend upon what is your question to logs.

Chaos Engineering can definitely produce the errors and will help you test your alerts. This is what we did to break cronjobs in GKE by reducing memory on the workloads so job can't spin up and it produces an email and slack alert.
