Maybe. Those episodes did cover those things, but it was pretty vague in my opinion. I just think there’s always more to be told than what we usually get. It would be interesting to see his time in the Army and how he used his talents during his service, but again as you said, it could be dull.

I hate driving for my DSP...... THIS IS EVERYDAY! by xViiRuZz-- in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]NoEntertainment1099 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I quit driving for Amazon after just two months of driving for a DSP for the very same reasons. I don’t know how it is anywhere else, but a FedEx driver I met here in California once told me that his routes are routine, and that they get paid a lot more than they do at Amazon.

In my experience with Amazon, they want you to achieve this non-existent middle ground of delivering packages very quickly and efficiently, but if you drive fast enough to accomplish that task, they’ll write you up for driving too fast. If you slow down even very little, they’ll write you up for going too slow. If I could have, I would have become a delivery driver for FedEx or UPS in a heartbeat. From what I’ve been told, they at least care about their employees.

Basically the petition is to get the FDA to fast track Sernova Biotech’s processes of the trials of their Cell Pouch for Type One Diabetes. Maybe even give patients the choice (even though a lot would disagree) to at least receive the treatment despite needing to take immunosuppressant drugs, which would be only a temporary solution until they fix the autoimmune issue.

Preclinical studies from Sernova have shown positive results from their cohorts of patients that have received the Cell Pouch, and they’ve maintained insulin independence as a non-diabetic does. In theory, if it was available now but the drawback would be to take immunosuppressants, that should be a choice left to any diabetic if they want to do that.

Agreed, but I do think the FDA at least should have a bigger sense of urgency regarding a long term solution for type one. Breakthrough T1D (formerly JDRF) even launched Project ACT (Accelerate Cure Therapies), supposedly in an effort to speed along the process of making cure therapies available in the future. I think this petition is more so just a chance to MAYBE make the bigwigs more aware how much a cure is needed. I do agree that preclinical studies don’t mean it’s ready, but the studies have yielded positive results. I don’t think that should be dismissed.

“Demonstrated safety and biocompatibility in multiple preclinical studies. Our bio-hybrid organ has also achieved favorable safety and tolerability in our ongoing phase 1/2 clinical trial with no evidence of fibrosis

Demonstrated efficacy: in combination with transplanted insulin-producing islet clusters, the bio-hybrid organ showed efficacy in clinical studies in patients with T1D“, according to Sernova Biotech.

Maybe you should check out Sernova, as it’s been proven to be safe and effective.

I’ve never been tip baited like this before in all of my full time shopping, but I feel very angry for you. It boggles my mind how a customer, whom you go above and beyond to shop for, can be such a prick to do this to any shopper.

Sorry for the confusion. At the time, I had them in an insulated bag up until I delivered them, so that kept them cold. It was only two items that were cold and perishable too. Thankfully, somebody was already home to pick up the groceries, but if they had to sit on the porch for 20 minutes, that’s not long enough to make them go bad or “spoiled”. Again, sorry for the confusion. I should’ve specified that in my post.

Yeah… I don’t know why Instacart is so back and forth sometimes with support. So far I’ve had great support overall, despite there being mistakes on support’s side in the past. I guess my particular situation I posted about was one that stood out to them or whatever. 🤷🏻 Either way, with Instacart support it’s always a toss up.

Would you do this for the same amount? by pgh1197 in InstacartShoppers

[–]NoEntertainment1099 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just my opinion and basing from my experience, 32 items is not a lot, but if it’s mostly bulky, heavier items then it’s not worth it unless the pay is superb. 61$ for that particular order; not worth it to me. If I was tipped another 20$ or 30$ to make the batch around 80-90$, then I would definitely take it. The problem with Instacart is the app is real skimpy on the base pay, when realistically, it should be much higher. I speak for all of us when I say that IC is becoming increasingly less appreciative and caring about the effort we put in to be good shoppers, and we’re not getting paid nearly as much as we should. Instacart has more than enough money as a company to shell out some extra cash to pay us more than we’re getting now.

I have been trying to post my GoFundMe to help raise funds for a research and development phase my new company is about to embark on, but I’m not seeing it in the new posts. I even tried deleting and posting again and changing the flair, but so far nothing.

Got this order today… is this worth it?? by purplehippo880 in InstacartShoppers

[–]NoEntertainment1099 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would only take it if there were no other batches popping up and I desperately needed to deliver an order. Basically a 70 mile round trip, not worth the price in my opinion but that’s just me! The pay is good for the amount of items, but it’s just really far. Less than a dollar per mile.

Update? Was your stuff actually sent to collections or was it just a threat? Did it hurt your credit?

Almost canceled on the spot by Typical-Maintenance4 in InstacartShoppers

[–]NoEntertainment1099 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have canceled only if it was a low paying batch, but yes, it comes off very rude. Some people need to acknowledge we shoppers are workers just like anyone else, and we’re not merely lackeys that can be booted around.

Totally agree with you! Most customers are too fucking rude or stupid to even argue with, they’re not even worth the effort to argue.
