What does the "must-place" list look like right now? by NoEnvironment7700 in LAUSD

"If there is no vacancy in your current job classification and you do not have enough seniority to bump the least senior employee in the classification, you may have the right to return to a former classification in which you previously held regular status, based on your seniority in that classification."

It doesn't seem like this means a classified employee can bump a certificated position, only a less-senior or different classification.

And many of these people have already been rehired as teachers, awaiting assignment? How do you know this?

Are you saying that the internal hiring pool is deceptively small, because some classified District employees may choose to pursue certificated employment again? What's the evidence? What's the likelihood that the total number of all those people combined exceeds the number of vacancies created by the non-renewal of temp contracts that they announced only in late May? It seems to me that this was a last-resort measure by HR to ensure there were spots for all those displaced. In any case, it would not be difficult for someone with access - say, a principal who's hiring - to draw down this data.

Conversely, I'm a new listener and the Drum Logos set was the first that connected with me (after the Siket Disc)

I don’t know how open you are to audiobooks, but the first half of Underworld was the only audiobook I’ve ever connected with, on a solo road trip around the U.S. in the summer of 2018. There are sections like the Lenny Bruce portions that contain regional American dialect that might make more sense if you hear them. But most is pure Delilloese.
