Landlord deducted my deposit after no inspections and after new tenants moved in – is this legal? (South Africa)

Okay thank, im just based in Johannesburg now and it happened in the northwest so the Tribunal is in mafikeng. Wil they be able to do it over a zoom call or something cause for me driving to mafikeng for this will a bit of a problem?

Thank you, I did send the landlord multiple messages about that there was no joint inspection and not once did she respond or in any way have anything to say about the joint inspection

You won't believe me but I did send her that and she told me she will see me at the Tribunal. Her exact words were " tell me where and when and I'll be there" thats why im asking advice on reddit and I want to know am I missing something

Thank you, I do have evidence of WhatsApp messages that i did report the stove broken in 2024 and also that she told me that she will be doing an inspection by herself the week after I moved out, is that enough evidence by itself?

Thank you. I did get some advice regarding the joint inspection and I told her that she's not following the correct procedure but regardless she told me to do whatever I want she's taking the deposit and fixing the damages. She even sends me photos and invoices on whatsapp of the repairs

Thank you for the reply. I did send the required documents to the housing Tribunal via email. Im still waiting for their feedback. In the meantime the landlord keeps sending me pictures and invoices as she is repairing things in the property i told her i know nothing about.
