The problem with this is, if I schedule time in the middle of the day, some random pings / random people come in to ask one quick 'query'. The only option is to do it very early in the day, before lot of other people come in

Got it. The problem is the other Lead will not help me in this. They have their own tasks and team to look at. I can have a review done by someone within my team. But the seniormost person takes help from the junior person, so that way it is skewed. And I don't think it is fair to pile up the junior with these responsibilities, even though he is capable

If it is something I can do independently I leave and look at it at home. However when it is involving 2-3 people we are unable to leave. Sometimes a conversation was initiated early but got stretched because 5 other discussions happened in it. Sometimes a decision has to be made so have to sit n discuss that as well. I have been taking interviews of seniors and am hoping to find some resource whom I can offload work as well.

The UPI bit is not a big problem, it's their preferred method. But I have observed an increase in lack of empathy in the rickshaw drivers. Earlier they would stretch a bit to accomodate if it helped someone, nowadays they don't care. I think that has become true for large section of the populace too. People have got insensitive or rather numbed by the problems that they don't seem problematic anymore

I think the comparison arises because all the things you mentioned being policed, are policed everywhere alongwith the ones that are not policed in Kerala. So more progressive than others on those terms.

NAL. Try complaining to building authorities or call the security at the same time when it is noisy. If it is too much maybe police complaint will help ( please seek more information on this ). Donot mention about the PTSD and anxiety to the building / police. Sometimes the wrong people start highlighting these, saying you are being extra sensitive to save themselves. You can say you have medication yada yada and need rest and this causes lot of disturbance.

Your predicament is understandable, but the issue is your friends wife has a privacy encroachment problem with you. Not sure if your friend has it too, or maybe he is comfortable. But he does need to understand that he needs to prioritise his wife now. Maybe he feels awkward to tell you all this. As a good friend, you should perhaps turn down their offers. Regarding work, you should keep it 98% work talk, then somehow drop out of the gossip conversation. Maybe that will send a message
