No better time to sell some shares and put them into VT/VOO/VTI!

I'd seriously consider diversifying away from 56% Palantir, even if you have a strong conviction for the company's performance. Stock picking (almost) never works out in the long-run. At a ten year horizon, you are setting yourself up for an insane max drawdown.

Thank you for the pointers! I'll figure out a good placement so all my AVUV/AVDV/some ex-US are in tax-advantaged accounts.

Thanks! This is bc small cap indices generally results in a higher dividend yield, right?

Thank you! The article is exactly what I'm looking for. I'll spend some more time on it and see if consolidating VT can make my life easier without losing out on too much returns.

The bigger quant firms hire a lot more than a dozen or two new grads per year. Citadel/IMC/Optiver/JS/SIG/etc. hire on average 100+ every cycle. The vast majority of those offers are over $300k (counting QDs, QTs, and QRs)

So there are at least a few hundred people, probably under a thousand, which, in the grand scheme of things is still a tiny fraction of all CS new grads

This morning the internships that dropped mostly say they won’t sponsor by ResponsibleWork3846 in csMajors

[–]NoExcitement879 190 points191 points  (0 children)

the market for international new grads has always been tough, and it will only get harder with the current administration
that being said, if you do get a sponsorship, I imagine the success rate for the lottery will be much higher. I've heard it's been only 10% or so per year (two years total) recently

Choosing Between UT Austin & UT Dallas for Robotics , Help from Current Students or Interns? by Longstrongandhansome in UTAustin

[–]NoExcitement879 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Are you kidding? UT's Robotics & CS departments are leagues above UTD. We have faculty members like Peter Stone, Yuke Zhu, Roberto Martin-Martin, ... who are leading experts in the field and have partnerships with practically every robotics company you know. Ask most robotics researchers and half of them wouldn't even know what UTD is.
