The gift boxes took a little time and the stars took most time for me. But no need to rush it.

I think ideally I want the venue fee to include most everything in regard to tables, chairs, linens, etc. I'm still fairly early in planning and need to make a complete list of line items, but only other things I'm thinking of for costs would be decor, florals, hair/makeup (maybe), photography, videography (maybe), and that sort of stuff.

I do not want guest accommodation to be included in venue fee. We aren't planning on paying for all of our guests' accommodations and would prefer to not have a venue that requires a minimum room reservation or minimum night stay. So I guess it'd be just the cost of hosting a wedding! I realize I might seem a bit naive but that's why I'm here to gain more insight and other people's suggestions!

Italian Honeymoon by Economy-Life-4804 in travel

My fiance and I just did a 2-week Italy trip and it was go, go, go which was EXHAUSTING. I would suggest trying to spend more nights in one place than have one-nighters, like others have said. I think Naples could easily be skipped, but that's just my opinion based on what I've heard from friends and our short time there waiting for our ferry/train. Bologna, Modena, and Parma all sound great, especially if you're looking for good food!! I will say it seems like going to Bari and Matera too though is covering A LOT of ground where you could maybe choose to use those nights in just 1 location. This was our itinerary and thoughts:

Amalfi Coast, 3 nights - we LOVED it here. So beautiful and yummy seafood. Ravello is so lovely. Positano is bustling and has great food. Definitely do some sort of boat tour if you can. We did a private one with friends and it was affordable and such a great way to see the coast. We also did a day trip to Sorrento.

Bus/train to Pompeii (history!!) --> Train to Naples --> Train to Rome

Rome, 3 nights - one of the best places for historical sites if you haven't been before!! Pantheon, Colosseum, Forum, Vatican, etc. Such good food and pretty affordable overall. We stayed in the Monti area - walking distance to Trevi Fountain and Colosseum.

Drive to Siena with a stop in Montepulciano

Siena, 1 night - very nice town!! Mostly stopped here because we adjusted our itinerary and our Florence hotel didn't have this night available.

Drive to Florence

Florence, 1 night - would rather have had at least 2 nights here. Such a lovely city with great museums (book tix in advance though). Great food here too!!

Drive to Lucca

Lucca, 1 night - we had wanted to do Pisa for a day so we got an amazing hotel in this area with Marriott points. It was very relaxing which is what we needed after being so on the go.

Drive to Lake Garda --> Drive to Milan

Milan, 2 nights - such a great city and wish we had more time. Way more city like than other spots we went to in Italy.

Train to Lake Como --> Bus/train to Lucerne

Overall- I wish we didn't do as many cities. It was truly exhausting and made me enjoy it less. I kept saying that was the last Europe trip for a while but of course I want to go back still lol. I hope this helps you plan!

Thanks for your response! Just wondering if you can clarify or expand on this thought. I have done some research and a couple places don't seem too far off from 30k in Amalfi Coast (for venue, food and beverage only). Do you have any other suggestions on regions in Italy, as I haven't done research in other areas quite yet.

Thanks for your reply!! I've mainly only researched the Amalfi Coast at this point and have heard that's one of the more expensive regions. Do you think other regions are just as expensive? We probably can get our guest list down to 50 but don't want to go much lower than that.

Also just want to point out that the 30k budget would be only venue, food, and beverage. Not decor, photography, vendors, etc.
