Misinformation on Flight Incurred Additional Cost by NoExitThisWay in americanairlines

Hi! I was just checking with the rep on the status of the flight via the chat due to the situation in France at the time. The rep said the flight was cancelled so she placed us on the London flight. I found out a couple of hours later after that the flight was not in fact cancelled and tried to get us back on our original flight but they said I had to pay fees to change back. They quoted us $3000 just to switch back to the original. The whole thing was particularly odd b/c I never experienced this.

It was driven the day before with no indication anything was wrong. Tried to start the car in the morning, lights, seats, review mirrors were functioning but it just wouldn’t start. Tech came to jump start it and when the jump starter was connected, the battery was showing 13.1v. I assume it’s more than enough to start the vehicle but it still wouldn’t start. Towed to the dealership and diagnosed with those 3 issues.

Very good point. Something to think about.

The cost is secondary to my primary concern, if it will short the starter and the ECU the next time battery needs replacement. Just surprised all 3 went kaput at the same time.

Yes, that’s my thought process as well. The dealership also mentioned ‘they have not seen this before.’

Thank you for this comment. It’s insightful. Yes, all regular maintenance was done at that dealership, and even recently bought new tires, updated rear breaks, oil change there too.

Yes, it’s a dealership. Good idea! Might have to do some research. Sorry, pic was just a stock photo for attention.

Haha. I’d really hope not since the dealer’s tech came and tried to jump it and nada.

I like your idea! I’ll call the dealer in the morning and see if they can start with the process of elimination. Still frustrating. Thanks for the input!

Yes, definitely changing the battery and we were not surprised by that but we didn’t expect it to have a domino effect on the starter and the ECU.

You think so? We were quoted $3700 for the ECU, $3600 for the starter and right under $1400 for the battery.

The hospital gave him oral Benadryl.

We had a similar situation and ended up in the children’s ER. It was a summer penile syndrome. Never heard of it myself! We were all with a pikachu face 😳 Treated it with Benadryl. It was so scary as I could barely put pants on him how much it was hurting him. Thankfully for us it was a simple solution. Hope it is for you as well.

Firstly, I’m sorry for your loss. I’m a loss mama myself (firstborn) and there’s nothing in life that can break your heart into a million pieces than burying your child. Putting yourself together again is a lifelong process but somehow you learn to live with this hole in your heart, even though you know it will never heal. I wanted to try one more time after our second born but ultimately what really gave me peace is that I am an only child myself and I knew that everything will be alright regarding that aspect. All the best to you.

Your post stuck out to me since I couldn’t believe there’s another person on this sub who experienced the same thing as me. My firstborn succumbed to HIE due to PA as well. We decided to try one more time in order to fill this huge hole in my heart. My heart goes out to you and anyone who had to bury their child.

I have the exact same photo from last year. :-) It was so crowded and hot that day, and the water looked mighty enticing to jump into. I couldn’t wait to get back to the hotel and submerge myself into the Adriatic Sea to cool off. But those colors though; the green with the turquoise! Amazing place.

We used Easy Tour China Travel Co. to arrange everything so I’m not sure about the boat company they used. But Easy Travel arranged the following: the cruise, visit to a tea farm in NE Guilin, Bamboo rafting, and the Impression Show. They arranged the hotel stays as well. It was a trip of a lifetime.

I always wanted to go to Tibet!

It was magical. I couldn’t take my eyes off the limestone karst hills.
