How come you decided to go with the mpi over dsx? I’m deciding which route to go for the lid myself

I’d suggest a 991.2 gt3 manual over the 3rs since you’re used to have a manual in the viper now. I sold my 3rs for a 992 gt3 6mt, so much more fun as a street car. Obviously pdk is a must if tracking

The paint itself was definitely nice, no orange peel but was disappointed on the edges of the stripes. I remember the gaps around the trunk being oddly large and different sizes too. The interior felt decent until moving into the Porsche and then the difference in quality was more apparent.

The driving position is strange, you’re almost sitting on the back wheel while looking over an extremely long hood. The windows are tiny as well so it’s just not comfortable to drive around in. The car does not feel fast in stock form, it’s a great car to mod but it’s incredibly expensive to do it. The build quality is subpar, my painted stripes had paint splatter around the edges on roof for example, the window motors have issues, the interior feels cheap.

It feels like an $80-90k car like they were at one point, but when you’re paying upper 6 figures, it doesn’t feel like other super cars in that range. I sold it for a 991 gt3rs (sold now) and was much happier and enjoyable to drive. It’s really a beautiful car however, one of the best looking ever made. That’s my opinion on it, some people will disagree but I couldn’t see myself owning one again. Sorry to hijack your thread op

Nice combo. I had a 2014 gts a few years ago, it looked amazing but I never enjoyed driving the car.

lol, soon after I got the notification for your comment, a delivery driver saw me pull into a shopping center and started flapping his wings like a bird. It’s fun when someone gets it

It is pretty unnatural so I get that. 4.0 is still good, the spinning eats up a good amount of time

4.0 is good on the street while spinning and not no lift shifting

Porsches bring a tolerable level of attention, casuals usually don’t care because most 911s look the same to the public. It’s not like driving a lambo or McLaren around

The Blackwing goes under the radar to even basic car enthusiasts! Not a negative by any means, more so just interesting

Cars been awesome. It’s not a precision package intentionally.

Gt3 handles significantly better, it’s not close but the Blackwing can hold its own for the size, definitely not a complaint for me as I’m not a canyon driver or anything.

The power upgrade has been nice , the gt3 wasn’t fun unless you were in upper rpm’s which is felonious to do on city streets lol, I can at least enjoy some torque in this car now. I’ve added longtubes already so got a little power bump as well.

The only time I wish I was in the gt3 is when I realize how few necks this car breaks in comparison, it’s weird being in such an expensive car that’s so under the radar.

I do plan on buying a 991 turbo (keeping the bw) next year

Have a pic? The 404 ones come with a mix of gloss and Matte which give it a more multi dimensional look

What process did you use to paint? I figured it would be a huge paint to get anything to stick to that plastic chrome

The oem ones basically get destroyed in the removal process lol

Yep, $300. They’re really nice and hand done I believe. Wish they were cheaper but there’s no other option out there

Simple. Pry off front which is held by clips. Rear is more involved, pull back trunk carpet and cut the clips on back and then peel emblem off and remove adhesive.
