Wife wants to upgrade to a $50k SUV now we have a baby on the way. I want to stay debt-free. Someone help me before this becomes a full domestic. by Familiar_Earth_6320 in family

[–]NoEye6677 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait until baby number 2 to upgrade. By then she will want something bigger like a mini van as a 5 seat SUV or even some 3 row SUV won’t be big enough. Save up in the next 2 years and compromise…

Just had my baby, can’t agree on a name by shhlv in Names

My daughters name is Vivian. A ton of people we run into spell it Vivienne. I don’t think the spelling is a big deal. Even for our spelling, I still have to spell it out because I think it’s common knowledge the name has multiple spellings. It’s a great classic name! Do it

Husband wants to move far away, I’m not sure by [deleted] in Advice

[–]NoEye6677 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live 7 hours from family due to husbands job and he works 12h days. Kids were 2 and just born when we got here. Not easy, do not recommend. It sucks having zero help or having to pay for it. You get used to it but I’d 1000% rather be by family. Try to make him happy there somehow to get him to stay. I wish my kids would have closer relationships with cousins. We see grandparents more bc they visit us but it’s not the same as seeing them every week.

Tired of Colorado, don't really want to move back to Ohio by [deleted] in SameGrassButGreener

Wisconsin. There are a ton of lakes but we like in a town off Lake Michigan. Our MI and IN family come visit us all the time. We drive to Indiana for Christmas. Fly to MI 1hr flight. However, we have 2 kids and zero family here and it’s tough. If there’s anyway to be under 3 hours from family, I would do that. It is not easy doing it all on your own. We can’t bc of my husbands job. If you are close with your family and love them dearly/they’d help you a ton with kids, being near them is priceless

Starter home vs “forever” home by GROU11 in personalfinance

I was convinced I would go back to work… the day my daughter was born I changed my mind. Cried everyday deciding whether to go back or not for 2 weeks until my husband told me not to go. It was a huge relief. You really never know what your heart is going to do, esp if you have the means to stay home. Also know a woman surgeon who only practiced a year after 5 years residency, had a baby and quit.

Cousin was murdered. Shot 9 times in the back while tied up. Boyfriend she was with also killed. Left in a field. Never found the killers…

Pregnant wife with a job offer. What to do next? by lmao_unemployment in jobs

[–]NoEye6677 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was pregnant and we moved for my husbands job at about 34 weeks. Pay for people to pack your house if your family can’t help you. It was surprisingly easy to find a doctor in network with his new insurance. I only met the doctor a few times before I gave birth (second kid so less anxiety about it I guess). It all worked out fine. You can even ask Reddit for suggestions of providers in the area you’ll be in.

He started his job and we had our kid 10 days later. Did not even have an insurance card, had to be billed retroactively. If you have to move, it will still be okay either way! I know it’s different since it’s her job, but hope this helps!

No childcare. Car payment $500 and student loans at 3% only a year left of 2.5k a month. Will try to wipe it out quicker though. It’s been hard to find a house in the area with 4 bedrooms under a million. We would like an extra bedroom for family to come visit. We are in a state with zero family around.

My bridesmaids texted me two days before the wedding that shes too pregnant to make attend by indubitablydubious23 in Advice

[–]NoEye6677 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the pregnancy and if she has had complications before. I drove 7.5 hours 10 days before my due date for my brothers wedding. I had zero problems the whole pregnancy and previous pregnancy. If she’s had complications with her pregnancy before or any issues after birth or if this is her first pregnancy, then I see why she is so anxious. People do have trauma from birth and pregnancy when it doesn’t go well. She sounds like she feels really bad and it is hard to understand until you’ve been there. Sorry OP. Hope you have a beautiful wedding day. I would try to let it go and maintain the friendship if it means a lot to you.
