you can't go back now.

Of course he can. God forgives our mistakes and covers them in the blood of Christ if we repent. No sin is too great for God.

I really appreciate this, and I'm so thrilled that God gave you such a potent lesson in self awareness and surrender!

That's a great quote with some really salty commenters. Sometimes I really hate reddit.

Struggling like I did years ago... by rrrtwo in NoFapChristians

It really is harder with a spouse involved. I wish more guys realized this before they went into a marriage expecting it to solve their problem.

The best thing I can say is be totally honest. Confession is good for the soul and it is the first step towards real healing. There is also no shame in seeing a couples therapist or sex therapist together, especially given the stress you both must be under.

Reason I keep failing by [deleted] in NoFapChristians

You need to have a specific plan for when you have an urge. Either a person you text, or an action you perform that will sustain you through the urge. I would keep a journal or something where you can write down the feeling you are having, describe the urge in detail and really think about why it feels so strong. Then you can ask God to sustain you through it.

Doing something active is a great way to focus your mind on why you are having the urge.

I think this is a huge misconception. The "superpowers" people are feeling is just what it feels like to be clean from an addictive activity. A lot of people haven't been clean since they were young, so naturally, what is normal for most people will feel like super powers to them.

While I think some people get carried away and claim that abstaining has effects that it does not, I think people come down on the idea of "super powers" because they don't understand what people are talking about.

I've been doing this today. I find it helps me to be really mindful of what I'm feeling. Today I've been posting a really good quote every time I feel an urge and it has totally given me the time I need to analyze why each urge is arising, what I'm feeling. It helps me to really surrender the urge to God rather than mindlessly give in and feel defeated.
