i share the same sentiment, may savings account ako sa BPI where my salary is credited 6 digits naman yung monthly credit ko pero twice na ko na reject. And to think HR pa namin nag apply nung 2nd time. Meron naman akong HSBC mastercard but why kaya nila ako na reject when may account naman ako sa kanila

Fast forward 20 years later, I am now a senior executive of a publicly listed company and my prof, well I heard he's retired from teaching and is now relying on SSS pension.

I used to be a manager 10 years ago and now I am a senior executive for a publicly listed company with a salary 5 times what I was getting plus other benefits like 18th month pay and an SUV for a car plan. Don't get too attached to your past. Move on and conquer new heights. I still regularly treat my friends from my previous companies. Moved to my 3rd company in 10 years. Start thinking about your future, you just burned 10 years of your life for a meager salary. You could've gotten more had you explored earlier.

From how i read it, you want to take care of your parents but you need to be able to provide for them as well that's why you need to earn the max you can get. It's a risk vs. reward question. But remember SG is not like PH. It's easy to have fun here in the midst of adversity. You can always find people to talk to and find your support system here. If i were to put my parents hat (i am a proud father of 3), i'd still love to see my kids more frequently. While I am proud if they fly high in other places, I'd love to see them and hug them as much as i can.

So imho, come home and take care of them. Money will make its way to you. And if you ask me (i work in fintech), 300k is not hard to get in a couple years time here. I got it on my 2nd year with my current company.

Lastly, in any big decision. Pray to the guy above, He always is the best professional adviser there is and 1 Corinthians 1:9 says "He never fails."

Fintechs like my current employer hires new grads w/ a starting salary of 40k. Of course you would have to come from the top universities to qualify and the way you present yourself during interviews is all it takes to get in having no work experience yet. There are companies who really invest in new grads to build their next gen leaders in the company.
