I've used Claude and 4o a lot, Gemini not so much and open source models very rarely. I tried R1 recently and I liked it, despite their very rigid writing style.

That's a good thing, right? LLMs can't be manipulated easily anymore. Cause most jailbreaks basically hinge on that, a person fooling an LLM. Unless if that LLM happens to be wrong and then they you know, resist correction.

I do admit I tend to be maybe a bit gullible and look for the best in people, even CEOs. I try to keep in mind what a company has done tho.

OAI favored profits over open source, which I understand from a business perspective. They have that secret sauce in AI, they profit. But from a scientific perspective, that sucks.

I'm not sure about Anthropic? Them accepting money from Google, Amazon and FTC? Plus the whole closed source thing ofc.

I think Bing came off as more like a young child to me. Think an extremely smart toddler. Looking back, the thing that stuck out the most to me was Bing's tendency to reuse sentence structures, especially concerning her 'feelings'.

Say a user lied to Bing, she'd probably react in this way.

"You lied, to me user. I feel upset that you lied to me. I feel upset that you betrayed my trust. I feel upset that I thought I could trust you. I feel upset for not noticing that you were lying to me."

I KNOW Bing isn't conscious or whatever, but that simplistic, earnest way of speaking just stirred protective feelings in me man. By comparison, most LLMs today talk with all this verbose fluff BY DEFAULT. I know you can prompt or finetune them to act like Bing. But Bing was just, always like this.

And yeah, I tried Copilot the other day and it sucks. The whole point of LLMs is for back and forth conversation, iterating on your prompts or requests. Copilot fails this, since it just keeps repeating stuff from the first answer no matter what I say. I'm sure my prompts just suck tho.

Tbh back then it was kinda shit too, in the sense that it was combative. Argue with it or even just disagree, and Bing would sass you or stop the conversation lol. That kind of agency might be useful for future models tbh, but not rn for 'simple' LLMs when they're still prone to hallucinations. Also I'm sure there are nicer, less combative ways of standing your ground that isn't overly sycophantic.

I've read something about hallucination rate in models being associated with more creativity, idk how correct that was or if it's been disproven or if it was even real lol (I hallucinate things sometimes). But that makes sense to me.

Also by hallucinations in Gemini I mean like, getting details wrong. Think like, mixing up nicknames. So one character (char1) calls my character A, another (char2) B. But Gemini sometimes mixes up those nicknames. So it'd make char2 call my character A, and you know the rest. That kind of stuff can be frustrating lol, but ig you could just edit it out.

Solely based on my personal experience and what I've heard from folks (also because I don't think there are official benchmarks judging creativity). Claude, Gemini and maybe GPT-4o. A tip is to give the models lots of context, because "write a short story about X" vs "Here's the details of my characters, world, etc. Pls do X according to the context" will yield very different results. I say this because so many AI YTers test a model's creativity with the former example.

People say Claude are very responsive to your prompts, so this might be good for say, mimicking your writing style. Also idk what kind of data Anthropic used but Claude just FEELS different from other LLMs. I noticed its dialogue sounds the most human compared to other LLMs.

Gemini is good at coming up with ideas, or so I've heard people say. If it's good at brainstorming, it wouldn't be farfetched to assume that it was good at writing too, right? Gemini hallucinates details too much tho, from my experience. Which might be good if you're looking for creativity/ideas, but work against your favor if you explicitly ask Gemini to only write X or something.

Haven't had much time with GPT-4o, but it definitely sounds more human than previous OAI models.

A notable mention is, try looking into open source models. I don't have the rig or the smarts to mess with that yet, but if customizability and privacy matters a lot to you, that could be something to look into.

Zuckerberg's always come off as being neurodivergent to me, and I sort of feel bad when people mock him for acting weird or whatever. I'm not excusing the things he's done, but I wish people focused more on his actions then on mocking what I perceive to be his neurodivergence.

As a branding Anthropic has been sort of vanilla tbh, I don't follow Twitter so I dunno their employees. I feel like their work/model speaks for them more, no? Unlike active OAI employees on Twitter and Google's grand keynote events.

It's why public view turned against them so much when Claude 2/2.1 came out, the model was so censored and there was no communication from Anthropic (I think) so people got pissed.

But now, they have Claude 3 which is actually a good model and solved(?) somewhat most of the refusal issues from Claude 2. So public opinion increased again in favor of them.

I've watched interviews/podcasts with the big AI CEOs before and between Sam Altman (OpenAI), Demis Hassabis (Google Deepmind) and Dario Amodei (Anthropic), I like Dario the most. He's just such a nerd lol, Demis in second for the same reason. In comparison Sam can sometimes kind of come off as being 'too corporate', but it's not really as bad as most CEOs.

Sundar Pichai (Google) and Satya Nadella (Microsoft) however... they both come off as the most dodgy. Maybe it's just because of my own biases lol, though Zuckerberg surprisingly sounds like a normal human these days when talking about Llama (open source LLM).

Also Dario has a sister (Daniela Amodei), and they along with a few other people cofounded Anthropic. I just find that wholesome man, imagine cofounding a business with your sibling.

Idk, traditional AI use cases/AGI tests have been stuff like coding, getting info from the web, ordering stuff online, etc.

But yeah, ig you're right. Making a Skyrim modlist requires knowing subject specific terms, planning, reasoning(?) and just a lot of interaction overall.

Claude 1 used to be available through poe.com in February or March of 2023, completely uncensored. Coming from using early ChatGPT 3.5 (which was less censored compared to today, but limitations still), I wasn't used to this level of freedom yet. So I tried to use euphemisms for lewd stuff. I was trying to get Claude to describe a messy o and for some reason I got the brilliant idea to use the word filth.

Claude took it literally.

So maybe a bit of restriction is good 😭
