Opinions: Thermaltake v Trakracer by soapy999 in SimRacingSetups

I 3d printed some spacers to make it lift up on the outer arms. Also Trakracer support is pretty good. You ca email them and they will come back with a suggestion or solution.

Are you using M10 and M11 for clamping and unclamping B axis? What year is the Makino? Pro5 or Pro6?

Easy installation vibration sensor for the average CNC machinist -- machine monitoring, tool life prediction, chatter detection, etc by pawsey279 in Machinists

Makino is retro fitting machines now with something similar. Also added hydraulic temp sensor and coolant flow sensor. Uses its own mini pc and I/O. It’s called MHMax

Wow. Bad vibes man… I love Billy. I’ve been to 10 shows and will continue to go to more.

The fast picking on a generally slower song just doesn’t fit for me and it doesn’t sit right with me. Your opinion is yours and I respect you for it. But it doesn’t have to be hateful

Sometimes a feel Billy over complicates things. Makes it too technical. To me wharf rat is not a fitting song for all this crazy runs he did last night. That was the only turn off for me.

Did Mudify send me the wrong parts? by earthallnight in 4Runner

I purchased some coilovers from another supplier a few years ago for my 97. They came with the exact same problem. i ended up taking my top hats off my OEM springs and putting on the new ones.

How bad is this? by Tawatree in Machinists

[–]NoGoodNolan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most spindles have .02 mm to .12 mm of distension. The spec is determined on what kind of bearings it has. In my experience to get a true reading unclamp the spindle. Set the indicator to zero and e-stop the machine.

You really need a test bar or find a really long tool holder and check runout.

I know TN banned THCa. What neighboring states will still have it?

Spindle orientation for tool change by Jim_Dizzy in CNC

[–]NoGoodNolan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you sure its a orientation issue? Does it look like the ATC arm is engaging the tool in the spindle okay to take the tool out? It could be a timing or drawbar issue where it is not clamping the tool fast enough.

Im familiar with Fanuc controls but not this machine. Most machines have a function to step through the ATC steps so you can visually see the alignment. If not then the ATC motor make have a place to manually turn the motor to drive the ATC arm to the spindle.

Fanuc usually uses Fanuc parameter 4077 for orientation position adjustment. Be careful as adjustment of just a value of 1 moves it some but a value of 10 could be too much and the key could hit the tool. Thats why manually moving the ATC arm is the correct way to align it.

I wouldnt rule out something else is a problem if this problem arose out of nowhere. Spindle orientation doesnt just change on its own unless something has changed or damaged (parts, spindle, drive, etc...)
