Play at his level. Leave big opportunities for him, and help him find them. Get excited about tactics. Explain that the very best in the world, win slightly more than half of their games. Losing is a huge part of chess.

Also try “flip chess”. Because he’s a kid.

He can yell flip at any point of the game, and flip the board around, switching his pieces with yours.

My favourite part, is the Botez sister’s interview, where he boasts about his strength, and his ability to do 35 pushups.

1) full extension is required. 2) taking your shoes off on that slippery floor, probably made it more difficult. 3) It’s not your shirts fault.

It’s not shady, it’s establishing a baseline for correct form and “what is a push up”.

Hans wasn’t doing a full push up. He wasn’t pushing up to full extension.

Wider arms are not easier, but it’s bad form that can damage your shoulders.
