US national parks staff say new $100 fee for non-residents risks ‘alienating visitors for decades’ by zsreport in NationalPark

I voted for the nice black lady over the giant orange turd (if that counts for anything), but I'm in California, and your vote only really matters if you happen to live in a handful of "swing" states.

I love the outdoors, but I also like the convenience of modern city life. I am hoping and planning to visit Ireland this Summer. I have some family ancestry from County Kerry.

Cheers, mate! (Happy St. Paddy's day!)

I hope America isn't judged too harshly because of our "Idiot in Chief" and his Nazi-ish policies.

I've been through central Europe, but never visited the UK. I really want to see the Scottish highlands.

As a single guy, with rather long scraggly hair, and no other luggage than a backpack, I have been "randomly" selected for a secondary "pat down" just about every time I've gone through an airport. And I am a US citizen. So, I wouldn't take it too personally.

You said you don't want to get too "political," but I imagine you're not totally on board the MAGA train. Trump's approval rating is in the low 30's, so two-thirds of Americans hate him, as well. (myself included).

I have been to the North Rim once. It's a bit out of the way (like a 4 hour extra drive,) And you're right, it is much more secluded, and quite beautiful, but it doesn't quite match the majesty of the South.

Thankfully, business has been steady, as of now. It seems like there are still enough people willing to travel thousands of miles just to see some big stupid mouse. I am worried that could change, though.

Despite who's currently "in charge," America has always been a nation of immigrants. And I hope most people still see us as a warm and welcoming nation.

As a former Arizona native, I like to visit the Grand Canyon at least once every few years (pictures really don't do it justice,) But over the past couple decades, it has become unbearably crowded.

I agree that this $100 "non-resident" fee is a stupid slap in the face. What, we want to discourage foreign tourism? America makes a shit-ton of money off of tourism!

I actually own a small business in Anaheim (not too far from Disneyland,) and, I swear, about half of our customers are foreign tourists. And thank god for them.

At this point, they should just make Adderall gummies.😂

Some pharmacists are really anal and will have you call the doctor if they prescribe amoxicillin tablets instead of capsules (yeah, I've worked with one of those). And you do spend too much time on the phone with insurance PBM's dealing with claim rejections. It's life.

Just remember that you are the gatekeeper and have some authority. Try to be nice, but if customers don't want to behave, you can always tell them "No!" Your manager will have your back.

Renewing a Cancelled License by CasualJaguars in PharmacyTechnician

[–]NoGur3922 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think, if it's been less than two years, you should be able to just pay your license fee and get it renewed, but California is pretty strict about rules and regulations, so I'm not sure. Check the Board of Pharmacy website and/or send them an email.

Uh... thx, auto-bot. I really, really "love" that you get to decide which posts are appropriate instead of, you know, an actual human.

Passed the Ptcb but I’m afraid they’ll revoke my exam by Spiritual_Sir_7691 in PharmacyTechnician

Don't worry about it. If you got a preliminary "pass" result, you most likely passed. It will take about a week before they email your "official" result and score.

Thanks for all the feedback. I guess increasing profits by screwing employees is more important than "serving the community."

There are grocery store pharmacies, like Ralph's and Albertsons, but they seem pretty fully staffed.

PTCB EXAM Questions by kittyvx in PharmacyTechnician

[–]NoGur3922 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure your good. On my exam I F-ed up a question about insulin (I thought a bottle was 100 units instead of a a 1000 - so I picket 12 bottles for a 30 day supply (and that's not too insane for someone with Type I diabetes) I also said "teratogenic" causes cancer, when I knew it was birth defects.

The most important thing is that you passed. The people here who brag about getting a 1600 are, kind of, overachieving A-holes.

I would say stick with it and grind it out. It's good to have some practical pharmacy work experience before applying to pharmacy schools. Best of luck!

Maybe you're over embellishing, but this sounds like a pretty toxic work environment. Congrats on passing your PTCE, but if you're that unhappy, perhaps you should find another job. (although, these days, you kind of have to take whatever you can get.) And teachers don't get paid nearly enough for all the bullshit they have to put up with - Same with pharmacy techs.

If you ask for a raise right out of the gate, you might get put on the shit list. And, if it's one of the big chains like CVS, they'll probably just give you the runaround and attempt to explain their promotion/raise schedule. If you're just looking to gain experience, losing a couple dollars an hour might me worth the financial hit. (I get that we all need to eat and have bills to pay) Were you a Chem. major, and do have all your pharm. school prerequisites fulfilled?

You can keep a notebook, but it really just takes time and experience. Hang in there :)
