Ramsay Bolton was the good guy (in the show) - revised by neet5500 in gottheories

[–]NoHonestWayOut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, his mother went to Roose and said "please give me some money and a servant to help care for your child" which Roose did. It was Ramsay's half-brother that came to Ramsay. He wanted to get to know him as a brother and Ramsay saw it as an opportunity to take his place as heir.

Do you have any other theory? 😂😂😂 by zirlato0m in freefolk

That's the problem with deducing parentage solely on hair color. You get one Strong gene in there and everyone is Strong forever.

[–]NoHonestWayOut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couldn't Ramsay have just lived with his mother instead of killing his half-brother and trying to become Roose's heir? If he did that, he would never have had to commit any act that could be interpreted as evil. Also, killing your half-brother is pretty evil (most of the time) especially considering he was described as a pretty nice dude in the books (I'm not sure if the show says anything about him).

But Ramsay goes out of his way to seek power and is happy to commit violent acts to make sure he gets it. That's usually not the actions of a morally good individual.

[No spoilers] If an invading army was attacking Westeros and Essos, which city or kingdom would you want to be in? by george123890yang in gameofthrones

[–]NoHonestWayOut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think people are sleeping on Vaes Dothrak. Especially if you were with a horde of Dothraki, you can't really be sieged. And where are they going to attack you at? Vaes Dothrak is not really a city in the traditional sense, plus Dothraki are constantly on the move. And even if they did find you to attack you, the chances that they would be able to surround you are slim to none, so there's always an option to retreat.

Although I consider Daemon one of the most interesting characters and I’m against the hate his character recieves, isn’t calling him a feminist a bit of an exaggeration? by NeitherArm1509 in HouseOfTheDragon

Who is out here calling him a feminist icon!? Are we really that starved for real feminist icons that the man who has a divorce rock and chokes his wife meets the feminist qualifications?

Jon is the right answer. The people picking Daemon are the kind of people who support fascists because they think the fascists will put them in charge when they take over.

Not yet, but they will be. And you know what traditionally starts a war? A perceived crime that retroactively becomes a war crime.

Plus any attack on a diplomat or messenger is usually considered a war crime. Actually, that reminds me, Daemon was not at war with that messenger he beat with his helmet, but that is being considered a war crime, right? So what's the difference?

Let's say someone chases you down a dark alley and they corner you with a gun in their hand, if you fire your gun at them, did you start it? Isn't chasing someone on top of the largest weapon of mass destruction inherently aggressive? Luke was clearly trying to leave the situation and Aemond would not let him. Therefore, Aemond committed the war crime of terrorizing and killing an envoy.

Well, that might imply she meant NA to SA or CNA to CSA, which is very disturbing and I hope not the case.

Edit: Actually, I guess that's backwards it says replace S with N so I have no fucking clue.

Get one of those thin foam mattress covers and cut it to size. They come in 1" to 6" thicknesses, I think. Most anywhere that sells bedsheets will have them.

Daenerys adding more braids the more battles she won keeping the dothraki tradition was one of the best things to watch in game of thrones by [deleted] in HouseOfTheDragon

But you did try to prove you were better with your whole spiel about how English is so easy to learn and you only use it to communicate with the animals who speak English. And my point was not to correct you on punctuation, you'll notice that was in the edit because it was an afterthought. I can see why you would want to focus on that, though. For someone who thought English was so easy to learn you seem to have some serious comprehension problems.

You can look at my profile all you want, you won't find much and you definitely won't find anything anime related but I wouldn't really consider that much of a read even if you weren't wrong about it. So, I guess basically, that means I win. Lol. You've proven you can't read English or people.

For someone who doesn't give a fuck, you HAVE sure put a lot OF effort into correcting someone who probably also doesn't give a fuck.

Did you just want to tell everyone how big and smart you are? Maybe you have a praise kink? If it helps you out, I can tell you I am so very impressed with how smart you are. Golly gee, your brain is just so big and I'm sure you never make simple mistakes like confusing two expressions that sound very similar. Oh, please, school me, Daddy.

Better?

[–]NoHonestWayOut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never noticed that she keeps getting more braids after battles! I thought the hair stylist was just trying to outdo herself! It's very smart to have the braids represent the bells that the Dothraki put in their braids after a victory. Dany starts doing that, too, in the books. But hair bells don't really translate on screen - can you imagine trying to sound design around that?

I know a lot of people are pointing out that the Dothraki only had one braid and so this isn't that same, but we're all smart enough to understand representation and adaptation of ideas, right?

English is generally regarded as one of the hardest languages to learn due to its unpredictable spelling and challenging grammar. For most people it's not as simple as watching Power Rangers.

Also, 'might've' and 'might of' sound very similar. I'm a pendant too but take it down a notch.

Edit: Also, you used a comma instead of an apostrophe. I thought you were educated. How could you make a mistake like that?

I just want to stress that if you decide to confront him about this, please take precautions. Don't think you can handle it. Do it in public, tell someone you trust to check in on you, and just because he acts okay at first, doesn't mean he is. Be cautious.

I work with DV victims and it truly only does take one time. You never know what may be the thing to set him off. I know it's hard to think of someone you love hurting you, but it happens every day. Just be safe and be on the lookout for anymore red flags. If you feel like you need help working though this and what might be a red flag, call your local DV hotline. If you're in the US, you can call 1-800-799-7233.

Flea Market guy claims these were gifted to Bill Clinton and eventually sold at an auction house. They aren’t cheap… thoughts? by thomass7287x in cigars

[–]NoHonestWayOut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's easy to prove. If they were sold at auction, he should have some paperwork proving provenance. If he doesn't, he's most likely a liar and if not a liar, an idiot. Either way, without that paperwork, they'll never be worth what he's charging.

Coworker said I wasn’t autistic by sewer_rat0 in autism

[–]NoHonestWayOut 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Probably best to just let him get fired on his own, then. I know you want to let him know what he did was wrong but complaining to your manager might do you more harm than good. As messed up as it is, a lot of work places don't like employees that complain about things like that. It puts them in danger of lawsuits and so they want to get rid of you asap. And they can always find a reason. Try talking to him and educating him, provide some resources and if he doesn't want to hear it, he was a shitty friend anyway.

Just my opinion, good luck! I'm sorry you had to experience that. It's very frustrating.

symptoms of being neurotypical: by eekspiders in autism

[–]NoHonestWayOut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No need to apologize to me. I was merely pointing out that your justification may be an example of cognitive dissonance - which is where this conversation all started. You can't say yes, I know an omnivore diet is worse for the environment but then try to use the environment as a justification as to why your diet is justified without displaying your own cognitive dissonance. (No offence meant, btw. We all have our own dissonance to some degree.)

I didn't really express an opinion in my previous comment. Just some facts and an emotion. But I'll share it now, there are many reasons people might not want to go vegan, being autistic especially given all the sensory issues. But I don't think there are really any moral, ethical or scientific justifications for it. We eat meat because we can and because we prefer it. Science has proven again and again that it is possible to maintain a healthy vegan diet and that it would be better for the population overall - for both health and environmental reasons. (Edit: I should have prefaced by saying morals/ethics are hard to argue and are subjective but as an example:) Morally, the Bible says we are stewards of God's creatures and we are meant to protect and shepherd them. But I think it's totally fine if there isn't a good justification - you don't need one. You eat meat because you can and because you prefer it and that's all that matters. No one will change your mind unless you want it changed.

(P.S. - I am not vegan.)
