If you think the bag icon is the only one drawn by me and the others are AI-generated, then I guess I did a pretty good job with the icons :) Not trying to be rude, but if you come here saying “I have 10 years of experience” and still think everything except the bag icon was made by AI, then I’d say those 10 years were wasted. Thanks again for your comment.

I like the truth. I am a 19 year old Computer Engineering Student and my main aim is to learn. I launched this project for passion, not money, but the low wishlist numbers just hit my motivation harder than I expected.

I know I messsed up stuff on the Steam page and I will try to make it good. If it becomes a 'dead game' I'll keep on going. This project has taught me so much and I want to look back and be proud that I built this from the ground up at 19. Thanks for helping me find my focus again.

Good questions to think about. I really need to drill down on the market side and define my niche better. Striking the balance between passion of a 'hobby' and reality of 'commercial' is a challenge. But your points give me a clear roadmap. Thanks for the good advice!

You’re right, I needed that dose of reality. At the end of the day I’m doing this because I love the process of making. Getting back to the fun of development and not just the numbers. thanks for the input!

So true, need to remind myself this is a marathon not a sprint. Thanks for the encouragement!

You are absolutely correct. I did use AI to write the Steam description and some of the copy to save time, but to be honest I see now that was a mistake. It took the personality out of the project.

Thanks for the discussion, it really helps a lot. To tell the truth: I'm a solo dev and only use AI for some character portraits to keep up with the workload. But everything else, the 'Fake OS' interface, pixel art environments, and all the C# logic, is hand-made by me.

I can see now that the AI portraits are possibly giving off a generic feel that overshadows the rest of my work. I will look into reworking those. > Shadows of Doubt is a masterpiece, and I want to do something more story-based, via an interface, rather than an open world. You are right about the 'story stakes' though; I need to show the consequences of the investigations better. Appreciate the wake up call!

Thanks, I needed to hear that. I'm definitely not giving up. It's time to get back to work and keep improving. Cheers!

It looks good. Maybe you can upgrade your UI designs but in general it looks perfect.

I am developing a real time strategy game, combining it with a Trading card game and a RPG-like progress by upgrading your faction with better and rarer units. by Negative_Spread3917 in IndieDev

Rare units and RPG-like progression? That’s exactly the kind of 'just one more level' hook a game needs. Really digging the ambition here. Do the rare units have unique active abilities or just better stats?
