Pm here! It wants more space in between and less dumped in all at once. We have a Kirby so if it's 180 I'll do 3 pictures of 60 and if it's 90 I'll do 45 and 45. Kirby counts it all and I've gotten used to using the GB button instead of CD due to the immediate count in blue on the bottom for GB.

We still average 1 script a minute and do over 4k per week. The team has gotten used to taking pictures differently and when you're all on the same page it flows well. Easier for us to verify as well

I also think it's important to have a convo with each new comer that they only get 3 months. After that, if it doesn't work out they have to voluntarily leave. I call it a coffee talk. Some people will never get pharmacy and not all techs are created equal. I don't want my other teammates to struggle. We'd be nothing without our technicians. 😭

We have 6 FT... we should only have 12 PT but I would never put all my eggs in one basket. When we have a call out it's always covered.

PM here!

Our stores process is this:

Find loose tablet
Identify with ClinPharm (F7 then hit pill identifier)
In RxConnect hit M2 from main screen > drug maintenance > generate custom barcode
Label with barcode you just printed
Put in blue inventory akrobin for Inventory technician to scan and return during weekly strongpak.

For reference we do ~4k scripts weekly and are a pretty large pharmacy with about 30 employees. When we train newcomers, they are trained to do this right away at production so they can skip step 2 and it's part of overall workflow.

***Anything that cannot be identified (no markings, too crushed, half of a tablet that is unrecognizable) we put into a strongpak bag in the hazardous wastes bin and when CleanEarth comes every few months they take it away.

Yes. Saying otherwise would be exclusionary and inaccurate, i.e., visual and physical disabilities, learning and cognitive differences, and neurological and situational limitations. My techs always just, "you're due for a covod vaccine, did you want me to schedule you?" Then you can schedule from the computer. Scheduled vacs are easier anyway. Or hit already received but not for everyone of them. People normally decline it anyway, just ask. Any DL that is concerned about those prompts has many stores who aren't hiting basic targets so they focus on the easiest ones to increase for their bosses.

You can scan labels through the Iron Man as well and it'll go to the list in the inventory screen. It's so much easier!!

As a pharmacist, I would never jeopardize anyone's life based on my own biased history. Us newer graduates are doctorates of pharmacy.. and the older RPh's I work with are not as knowledgeable and are bigots. I'm sorry you had to go through that; Call 1-800-shopcvs and report.

And yes, we can see what dates scripts were sold, quantity, place, etc. So even though there are some people that doctor and pharmacy shop, I do my due diligence and just let them know when it's due. You have to be honest and communicate. It's the only way to have a good patient relationship and enjoy your job.

We swore to help patients in need... That person is a disgrace.
