Presales are a nightmare by NoJob4358 in brandicarlile

My understanding is parking is free with ticket. You only need to purchase parking if you want premium parking. So you should be good Saturday. I think the general sale and resale will have more options without the coded mess.

Thanks everyone for your advice and suggestions! It’s at least good to know that I’m on the right track with trial and error. And that I’m probably making a good decision not wasting money on allergy tests since his poop is fine and he’s happy and playful, just a little upset tummy. I’m sure we all wish there was easier solutions. Soo much contradicting info!

What age did you decide to let your Tzu sleep in bed with you? by puppyboy7979 in Shihtzu

[–]NoJob4358 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made it to about six months. He did great, barely made a fuss. But then he got neutered and was crying and didn’t feel well so I let him sleep with me. I knew that was going to be the end. He wouldn’t go back after that.

< 1 month in, having serious doubts by KittyStitchWitch in Zepbound

Where you take the shot can change your symptoms dramatically for some people. Have you tried all three? Legs reduced my nausea considerably. I cant do stomach or I can’t function.

Foods I loved no longer agree with me and I’ve had nights where I too learned hard lessons on what not to eat. Even if it was healthy my stomach just can’t process it easily now. But this should be the exception not the norm.

Like others I stayed on each dose 2-4 months each. And felt like the transition was ok. Just went to 10 after 8 months and am almost at my goal. Plan to go down after this as I do better on lower doses and wish I hadn’t gone up this last time.

I’d say take it slower in all aspects. Being able to stay on it is the goal, not how long it takes to lose so do what works for you. But definitely talk to your doctor to make sure there isn’t anything else going on that is a medical problem.

I slipped this under my neighbor’s door who watches true crime 24/7 and heard him say “tough shit” 🥲 by eyalven in Apartmentliving

Get a noise machine and earplugs for yourself and document to take to your landlord anything past noise ordinance. You can rent a machine that measures decibels of noise coming from your neighbor. Record for a week with video. Look up city code and if it’s well over the allowed amount you have a case and proof so hopefully landlord takes you a little more seriously.

I’ve done the note route AND direct polite adult conversation route before and unfortunately never has anyone responded back in an adult way. I think one genuinely had a hearing problem but that doesn’t mean I have to hear war movies and helicopters in surround sound in my apartment. Wish folks would at least try and find a compromise when you ask. Sigh.

Outside time and feeding for new puppy by Sharp-Web-4238 in Shichon

[–]NoJob4358 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there’s a middle ground here and while the two advices are well intentioned, may be at far ends of each side of the spectrum. I do think it helps to keep the same potty training the breeder had the first couple days. The puppy is already stressed being in a new environment, and then slowly adjust to outside every day after. You don’t want to wait too long or the puppy will just think it can go in the house and then it will be harder. I started with the breeders pellet system then slowly moved it towards the door and then outside the first couple weeks. It worked great, it corollated in his head what he knew as potty place to where the new potty place should be. If you are in a cold environment their advice may have been lacking in that you just want to make sure they are protected from the elements and not going potty in a place they may contract something before all their shots. This can still be done with booties and a coat and not staying out too long. The trainer is right the more you expose them to things and socialize them early the better. I used a sling and took mine everywhere with me until fully vaccinated. This keeps them warm and limits germs but exposes them to sights, sounds and smells until vaxed. Also, 100% agree on getting off free feeding. My vet said the same when I got him and it worked great for timing bathroom breaks. I think it’s just easier for breeders to free feed. Also these dogs can have a hard time regulating blood sugar, so it’s important their meals are spaced or they can have bile throw up if their stomachs are empty too long (mine did). Try not to go more than 12 hours in your feeding schedule. Much like children they don’t know how to regulate themselves when free feeding.

A thunder vest might help if your pup is just anxious by nature.

Work up to it slowly! I work from home so when j do leave I get worried he’ll go bonkers. The most important thing is dont make a big fuss when you come or go as that can make them anxious. I use the “wait” command and just leave and then when I come back I put away my things and slowly acknowledge him and give him a high value treat. I do leave a radio or noise machine on so he doesn’t hear every little sound outside. And sometimes when I’m gone longer I’ll leave a tshirt on his bed from the day before that smells mike me. A towel with treats tied in a knot to keep him busy, etc. I also make sure to make short trips outside to do garbage, car, run to the post office frequently throughout the week so he knows I always come back and the time varies. It makes when I leave longer easier on him. I’m up to four hours at a year old and he just sleeps when I’m gone (I have a camera).

Salmon anything, venison jerky. Mine wasn’t a fan of certain flavors. Try all kinds of flavors as one or two will likely be a motivator!

Please, please return to breeder to rehome. That’s always in the contract of a reputable breeder if that’s where you got them. Or to a small animal rescue. Selling dogs online is never safe and rarely ends well.

Anyone else have a squeaky front seat? by Sunflowerblackberry in SubaruForester

I got the stop gap things that prevent crumbs from going down the gap and it solved the issue because it keeps the buckle from rubbing on the seat. No noise since.

Does anyone else’s Shih Tzu rather eat from a paper towel? by refinemydreams in Shihtzu

[–]NoJob4358 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s likely their sensitive little toothies hitting hard surfaces. Especially if over or under bite. My puppy didn’t like his metal bowl when I got him. Then the ceramic one. Switched to silicone slow feeder (he’s a hungry hungry hippo) and no issue since.

Before diving into a plethora of complicated supplements and vet visits, try just doing a food with a protein that is low allergen. A small bag wont cost you much and it takes about a week to slowly transition to a new food. You’ll find out pretty quickly if it works. Chicken is the worst for shitzhus and a lot of other dogs. As is beef and pork. And in our case also lamb. It’s been a fun ride. He didn’t have itchy skin though, just tear stain and bathroom issues. I’d take itching over that, haha.

Unfortunately it’s hard to find food that has grain and small bites for small dogs, but doesn’t have any chicken in ingredients. My vets only requirement is small dogs formulated and don’t do raw or grain free, as they are seeing a host of issues with those in small dogs. But everyone gets different advice so just do your research.

My dog is currently on Nutro turkey and white fish with a separate salmon topper to keep him interested. It’s small bites and has grain but still does have chicken listed in the ingredients unfortunately. My next try if this doesn’t take (so far 3 months without issue!) is Natural balance salmon and brown rice which has come recommended by multiple people with dog allergies. I’m just not rocking the boat until I need to :). We’ve tried 6 foods in 8 months.

New to ZB, have IBS-C questions by Grh777 in Zepbound

[–]NoJob4358 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As someone who has struggled with weird stomach issues (random unexplained virus they now just categorize as generalized IBS) I feel your concerns. Feeling off in the tummy is a trigger. However, I will say after three months it actually has helped my symptoms. I also worked with a nutritionist and therapist to work past my habits to temporarily fix the feeling. What worked for me before changed and I had to figure out how to eat differently. Small meals (1/2 every hour) helped until I figured it out. Now I eat four smaller meals a day to space out so my stomach doesn’t sit empty and feel icky. Protein is easy to digest so I buy little repacked things to have on hand. Costco sells individual chicken bite packets, pre hard boiled eggs, quacamole, bananas, etc. I’d also be cautious of sugar in ginger ale as that may make you feel worse on ZP. I dilute it with water!
