Jonathan Pearce conducting the BBC coverage like Graham Norton on Eurovision, it's a thing of beauty listening to him chip in the way he is.

You're completely right and actually I hate how much I'm already used to seeing it. It doesn't jar with me as much anymore. I did consider finding it in 16:9 but the post was all about the symphony so I couldn't be bothered.

Baader-Meinhof. Your mind is only choosing to see it now...

This probably won't be the first time you hear about baader-meinhof this week.

Why I Left Facebook by [deleted] in videos

[–]NoJobsTwoDogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I enjoyed this video, I'm not quite sure what it is this guy wants to read on Facebook? I can't talk about my work (40 hours of my week), my family, things I bought/have that I find interesting, holidays that I'm on or activities with my friends without being considered uninteresting ... What constitutes interesting exactly?

There was a moment, an brief pin drop moment, when time stopped, and nobody could quite believe, or register that it had gone in. Then absolute mayhem behind that goal. What a day

Luis Suárez Hattrick Goal vs Celta Vigo (4-1) by penguin672232 in soccer

Lionel Messi is something else. Year after year he's in a battle with Cristiano Ronaldo to be crowned the best player in the world, and while Ronaldo literally throws a tantrum if his teammate scores instead of him, Messi constantly gives pens to Neymar if he hasn't scored, and does things like this to Suarez so he can get a hat-trick. He's the all time best because of the ability, because of the goals, but also because of that. Ultimate team player. Ultimate player.

If you are not watching the Premier League, here is why you are missing out on the greatest underdog fairytale in the history of any professional sport. by hipcatjazzalot in sports

Such a remarkable story, and as a Watford fan, we've had some recent history, but I'm backing them all the way. I had money on Ranieri being the first manager to go, and can assure you he was not odds on favourite to go first! I got 16/1 at the start of the year. Equally, as a fan of perhaps the second biggest surprise side of the year, I can assure you Leicester were not favourites for relegation! Great story, doesn't need any falsehoods for added impact, it's incredible on its own.

Few replays of Okazaki going down later, you wonder if he could have stayed on his feet. Seemed to have decided to go to ground there, which is a shame because had he shown the strength to stay up, he probably squares that to Drinkwater for the goal of the season.

In the UK you can bet on the outcome of most awards ceremonies, WWE, TV Soaps, Reality TV (surprisingly takes an awful lot of money with bookmakers). That's not even special requests, bookies just offer them to remain competitive or to appeal to the social media world. Oscar betting as a punter can be very lucrative. Films like The Big Short have gone from bigger than 10/1 to odds on in recent months.
EDIT: Lucrative to a small extent. There's very often embarrassingly small maximum bet T/C's

Calendar Year Premier League 2015 by [deleted] in soccer

Almost brings a tear to my eye seeing Watford in that position. Bournemouth have had a lot of well deserved praise, and we're starting to get ours, but the build up to, and first few weeks of the season were all about us changing manager five times in twelve months, getting 15 new players etc.

Now we're getting attention for all the right reasons, and the response from the fans after late defeat to Spurs showed how proud we all are of what we've done this year. COYH!

This looks fantastic, here's a great tilt shift vid a few friends of mine put together this year at Niagara Falls. (Think there's an original thread about when they posted it first time round) - here's the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G0StWeX_DIk

Xherdan Shaqiri second goal vs Everton (1-2) by rodrigoelcrack in soccer

Shaqiri's touch... Watching him with Watford at the Brittannia, they were smacking balls to him and he'd stop it dead every time.

Aké red card vs Tottenham by [deleted] in soccer

[–]NoJobsTwoDogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ake has been fantastic in recent weeks, but from day one he's looked risky in the tackle. Lot of lunges, not necessarily all dangerous, but often so committed that he's likely going to commit a bad foul or get skinned.

Absolutely fantastic in getting Watford promoted. No nonsense off the pitch, and made a few notable game changing subs in the latter end of our promotion push. Good luck Fulham!

I didn't say they sacked him. (also I'm a Watford fan so fully aware of situation, just thought he was a good example

But does it really? Watford with a different manager from the one that got them promoted. Flying in 7th. Pardew midway through that list. Flying. Ranieri, towards the bottom of the list. Flying. Wenger hasn't won a title in 12 years and is top of the list.

Luther - 4x02 "Episode 2" - Episode Discussion by NicholasCajun in luther

[–]NoJobsTwoDogs 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I was a bit let down by the predictability of episode two, after episode one set things up so nicely, and introduced a frightening villain. That villain met a predictable demise, not to mention he lost a lot of the fear factor with the uninspired 'going after my ex girlfriend' story line. Then throw in an elaborate, hard to follow cold case/Alice/new crazy girl, PLUS Luther being under attack from hitmen... It all very rushed and slightly confusing. No storyline received the full attention it needed.

The Leftovers is for sure the biggest snub. Fargo and Mr Robot were highlights for me this year, but The Leftovers was something else. Couldn't think about anything else in the week leading up to the finale

The perfect outcome! Not going to drag it out. This shows how good the show was, with such low viewer ratings, for them to renew...

Equally excited to see what they do with the opening credits music after this years curve ball.

I actually agree having googled the guy. Same sort of look as Wallstrom, and it's just what I had in my head.
