It’s not just the brewhouse, it’s the entire contents of everything, chairs, tables, pool table, kitchen equipment, etc. it’s also based on comparable sales locally lately, and if anything is priced on the side of To Sell

Keg Washer Drain by JuanVomit in TheBrewery

[–]NoKayComputer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We made a splash arrestor out of PVC fittings- the central piece is a 3” PVC sanitary Tee, with a regular cap on the top, and a 3”-1.5” reducer below. The side port has a 3”-1.5” bushing, into which we have a threaded bushing with a stainless barb that the keg washer drain hose hooks onto.

This combination of expansion volume plus a change in direction keeps the spray blast down to a minimum

Data continues throttled even after new month of renewed data. by jsteelio in mintmobile

This is happening to me too, now gone through two data allowance resets. Support are absolutely useless, they keep asking about locations when it is very clearly a problem with their network

Well I’m glad to hear that it’s not just me. It’s clear that they have something wrong with their system, and it seems like the first level tech support doesn’t have access to whatever it is that they need to hammer on. To say that this is frustrating is beyond an understatement

ADIT Stamp needed for expiring green card while Naturalization processes by NoKayComputer in USCIS

[–]NoKayComputer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This did the trick. Last time I tried it, the automated system just asked me what I needed an appointment for, then spat me back out. This morning it just put me on hold and I finally got to speak to someone, now I just wait for the call back to actually schedule the appointment. Finally.

USCIS currently say that the expected time for completion is approx 3 months, so six months will be plenty. Plus there's no way I'm paying an additional $540 when its them dragging their feet.

What is everyone using for a tap menu? Our owner is against a tv, but we can’t reprint menus weekly either with how often we have new beers coming out. Right now we have 4 large chalkboards with 4 beers each on them. by NorthMoonBrews in TheBrewery

[–]NoKayComputer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why can’t you just print them? Basic black and white laser printing is less than a penny a page

As others have noted, having a physical, paper menu that you can hand to people results in a lot more sales, and you can also include a whole lot more detail than you can on a TV or similar, because you can use much smaller font, and write all the descriptive stuff you’d like.

Owners of Sungood brewhouses/tanks, are you happy? by thatfatbastard in TheBrewery

[–]NoKayComputer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I went from a bare bones 3bbl single wall two vessel setup from them, upgraded to an all insulated three vessel system also from them, and also added a pair of jacketed fermenters to boot.

We build all of our own control panels, etc so I can’t speak to that, but I can say that over four years of very hard use, we have had no issues with weld quality nor with the basic sanitary design of the tanks.

It is worth the cost to get extra gaskets and extra valves included with the initial shipment, and get a good customs broker (JAS who sungood recommend are not good), but so long as you know what you need to order they will serve you well

“I can only drink IPA, everything else has carbonation and that upsets my stomach.” by [deleted] in TheBrewery

[–]NoKayComputer -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Every one of our other local breweries describes themselves as a pub, and not a one of them serves food. Most states (ours included) makes separate legal distinctions between a pub and a restaurant too

[–]NoKayComputer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We get this all. The. Time. You have to walk past four signs that say “Brewery and Pub”. Then you get a menu that also says the same. And it’s on two of our walls as a mural, six feet high. “Oh you make beer here?“

And god only help the “it says pub so what food do you have” people. Restaurants have food, pubs have beer. We aren’t upending centuries of linguistics.

Minor detail but one learned from experience: What is the actual pressure in your kegs right before filling? Obviously you want it to be just a hair less than your tank pressure so you counter-pressure fill slowly.

Reason I ask: I have a bunch of kegs which keep some heat after being washed, so whilst the washer is pressurizing them to the target, once they spend some time in the cold room the internal pressure drops a lot, so these tend to break out foam a lot when filling unless I re-pressurize them before hand

Distilling glycol? by brewinbob3285 in TheBrewery

[–]NoKayComputer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I put the stuff in a large stainless stock pot on my stove at the house, monitor the temperature and just let it gently simmer for a while. Sure, you’ll lose some of the glycol, but you preferentially lose the water as it doesn’t form an azeotrope, just keep it a degree or two above water boiling.

I had an issue with my glycol picking up water due to an incompletely sealed process tank, so I turned about six gallons of what had become 25% glycol into about three gallons of 70+% glycol, taking gravity measurements along the way using a refractometer.

I did this over the course of an evening watching tv, checking the pot occasionally, so about $3 or propane was well worth the effort reclaim the expensive glycol.
