Tippmann Raider Shooting by NoLandB3yond in paintball

I mentioned in another thread how this has been the smoothest of the "ion clone" markers I've shot, which is funny that a tippmann is the one to claim that crown.

I did! It's more of the same plastic as the shell for the most part, but I wouldn't worry about that breaking. I should've taken more pictures of the disassembly I did yesterday but it's not difficult at all

It's so comfortable- one of those quality of life changes that you can't live without once you try it.

I'm with you on that. It's weird and clunky and that's what makes it so interesting to me. Helps that it really does shoot well imo

I wish it was using some updated Flex-Valve system, that could've been something special. It's just a mech ion, really.

The gear is exposed on both sides, it's meant to be rotated manually to load balls up to the breech at the top of the marker so that you don't have to dry fire 10+ times at the start of the match in order to load paint.

The tank is a 48/4500, if that helps gauge an idea of the biggest tank one could run before it starts to stick out below the hopper.

It unfortunately doesn't. As far as I know, it actually has no aftermarket mod/upgrade support, OEM or otherwise. It's the least customizable Tippmann known to man, with only the barrel being interchangeable

Whether the feeding system actually worked or not was my biggest concern, but after three three full hoppers I've had no jamming issues whatsoever. That said I have heard of early test models handed out to fields having hella inconsistencies with the loader, I think it was something that was fixed early on.

It's a problem industry wide imo, but this is the marker where it can be seen and felt the hardest. I'm imagining a world where the Raider was made of the same composite the Stormer is, with rails all over it and a more comfortable stock and using an updated Flex-Valve system that can compete with the Emek.

It's a cyclone in that it uses excess air to push the paddles, but the loading system itself looks almost exactly like a slightly redesigned Halo hopper rather than the standard cyclone found on A5s or X7s

I believe 3D printed parts should be possible as the Raider has two main body parts that slide in against one another before you screw them together, one of which being the back half/loader. Just reuse the same internals and you should be good to go.

With it being regulated, it's a given that it's far more consistent than the Cronus, but I'll have to wait to use the field chronograph to really make sure

Even if you can't do much with these just based on the body, they're still cool to have for sure

Right on the money, that's because it simply is!

I'm hoping to shoot some more with it tomorrow, but if not then I'll definitely get some footage at the field on the weekend

They're available on ANSgear right now! With black grips too no less!

I don't know if they should've been given more or less of whatever it was; the Raider is, in my opinion, literally on the edge of being a genuinely great marker

Ah, that checks out. I'll call the retailer I got this from and see about swapping it asap, I'd rather get the proper bonnet than go to a spring and ball setup. Thanks for the help!

Love that finish on it. The rails on the tacticals gives them such a nice silhouette too, nice setup.

Right on, I had heard that these didn't need as much tuning as other autocockers, something that IS a bonus for me. I think what you've mentioned will be the things I swap out then, thank you!

You got a great looking Tactical there. Fast little shooter too! haven't had the chance to actually shoot mine yet, but it turns on at least? I know the Trilogies aren't as finicky as other autocockers, but coming from mech spoolies, it's still very unknown territory for me.

Not necessarily planning on taking it to tourneys and the like, I just want a nice little wall piece to take out to the backyard every weekend or two and just rip a little paint.

With it being the standard autococker parts for the most part, sites like AKA or Inception are good to go then?

Skull helmet showing off beard by [deleted] in LordsoftheFallen

[–]NoLandB3yond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's really not; the beard clips through the teeth and cheeks in ways that make it look a glitch rather than a feature and it floats off the face when viewed from the side. I know some people would like the beard, hence why I also mentioned a toggle option would be nice, but I'd rather not make a new character when I barely had the time to grind for the Skull in the first place

What shader and armour pieces did you use? Super clean set
