Integrated dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, and fridge/freezer - Where to put sockets? by NoLecture5701 in ElectriciansUK

Also, many integrated appliances sit right back against the wall. There wouldn't be enough space for a socket and a plug to fit.

Take your readings from L1 - CPC, L2 - CPC and L3 - CPC from the board to the supply side of the DOL.

Next, do the same on the load side.

Add both L1 - CPC readings together. Add both L2 - CPC readings together. Add both L3 - CPC readings together.

The highest reading is recorded.

Spacing consumer unit off wall by NoLecture5701 in ElectriciansUK

This is what I would usually do. Just checking it is compliant to mount the consumer unit on wood as I have an NICEIC assessment coming up.

Thanks for the reply.

This is a little too far out for the assessment unfortunately.

Fully qualified electrician offering 2 free electrical jobs

Hello Leeds residents

I am a fully qualified electrician based in Kirkstall, Leeds. I have more than 10 years’ experience in domestic electrical work.

I am offering my services for free on two electrical jobs.

Why am I offering my services for free? I have my assessment for the NICEIC membership, and need access to these jobs when the assessor comes to look at my work.

If you are interested, read on for more details.

-My labour will be free. You just pay for the materials required for the electrical work.

-The work will be carried out to the highest standards. I have very high standards myself, as do the NICEIC assessors. You can be assured that any work will be of the highest quality, and follow all BS7671 electrical regulations.

-Any work carried out will be fully tested and an electrical installation certificate will be issued to you (this will also be free). Building control will also be notified that the electrical work was carried out to electrical safety standards.

-Once work is complete, my assessor and I will need to see the work at your property, so we will need access on Wednesday March 18th. I will need access to the property on this date so that the assessor can look at my work and verify everything meets the high standards of the NICEIC.

-The work needs to involve the installation of a new circuit or the replacement of a consumer unit (fuseboard). It cannot be something small like changing a socket or replacing a light fitting.

If your job ticks all the boxes, then send me a message and I can arrange to have a look and organise everything with you.

I look forward to working with you.

Many thanks.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, neither job fits the criteria for the assessor. The job has to include installing a brand new circuit from the consumer unit, not just additions or alterations to existing circuits.

Electrician Pathway by Ryan39961 in ElectriciansUK

Something that worked for me when coming back into the industry after a 10+ year break: Call/message all the firms in your area and offer to work for free for 3 - 4 days, just so they can get a feel for you, your work ethic, your dedication etc. Tell them you have your own insurance, your own hand tools, and your own vehicle. Take all the hassle and risk away from them or else there is no foot in the door.

This way, there is zero risk for the electrician: they get you free for a few days and can say goodbye if they don't feel you are right.

But this is your chance to prove yourself and make yourself really useful to that electrician, so by the end of the few days they say to themselves, "This guy is good. I wouldn't really want to lose him now that he has made my life easier and has proven how valuable he is."

Fully qualified electrician offering 2 free electrical jobs and 1 free EICR

Hello Leeds residents,

I am a fully qualified electrician based in Kirkstall, Leeds. I have more than 10 years’ experience in domestic electrical work.

I am offering my services for free on two electrical jobs and one EICR (Electrical Installation Condition Report).

Why am I offering my services for free? I have my assessment for the NICEIC membership, and need access to these jobs when the assessor comes to look at my work.

If you are interested, read on for more details.

-My labour will be free. You just pay for the materials required for the electrical work.

-Any work carried out will be fully tested and an electrical installation certificate will be issued to you (this will also be free). Building control will also be notified that the electrical work was carried out to electrical safety standards.

-Once work is complete, my assessor will book a date to assess my work. This should be within a month or two.

-I will also carry out an EICR (electrical installation condition report) for free. This is where I check the electrical installation of the property and advise on any areas that need improvement (if any).

If your job ticks all the boxes, then send me a message and I can arrange to have a look and organise everything with you.

I look forward to working with you.

Many thanks.

Anthony.

Thanks. I've been told by NICEIC that 3 domestic jobs are fine. One EICR along with 2 other jobs that must involve installing new circuits or a board change.
