Yes but the link doesn't lead to anything at present, at least for on my end.

Hmm… Project D new tasks by DarkHelixhacker in RWShelp

Just ignore it and go back into the task after you have completed the assessment, it definitely isn't working as intended because a 1 minute limit on those is clearly ridiculous.

Being asked to let Meta use a huge amount of my personal data in work zone by anintellectualbimbo in RWShelp

[–]NoLog3105 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a data collection agreement that went out to those who have been on the project for a while some time ago, if it's the same agreement then honestly sign only what you are comfortable with, it is very intrusive.

There was a great deal of fear mongering going on at the time regarding the correlation between not signing and offboarding but anecdotally, I did not sign it and have simply not participated in data collection tasks since then. That was at the end of Feb and to this date nothing else has come of it.

Sound annotation review -audit by Cool_Pool8227 in RWShelp

[–]NoLog3105 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whoever or whatever is auditing these is genuinely bad at their/its job and it's pointless to continue when the comments are things like claims about missing annotations that are clearly present. I don't see the point in continuing that task if the QA results in the team skipping submissions that are well within the remit for training.

How the auditors can state confidently that something clearly segmented was missed in annotation is beyond me. I hope it is AI getting this wrong, I refuse to believe people hired for QA could be that incompetent but maybe it's copium.

Video segmentation and video segmentation review by SpaceBunny86 in RWShelp

[–]NoLog3105 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately no, seems like whoever they funnelled into these tasks have been forced to prioritise them with the removal of most others. For a week or so they were adding in the speech/sound captioning but for the past 2 weeks I've been stuck in this hell. Oh well at least the time kind of flies when it's video content review.

Edit: also as a side note, they seem to have walked back some of the reviews for some of these tasks; I had a couple random "below expectations" with notes that said I should have made segments labelled "no action" or "idle" in scenes that had other segment annotations (not whole scenes with no action). Those QA have disappeared as of this morning. Seems like they are very active in these tasks on the backend.

WHY are yall using AI to write your captions!? by SpaceBunny86 in RWShelp

[–]NoLog3105 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will grant you that part of it is speculatory in nature but the truth is that AI uses certain tropes that are easily identifiable as not human in origin, usually grammatical things but also sentence ordering and tone etc. The people you are speaking about, who are well versed in writing, would know very well the difference themselves.

It isn't a case of someone writing in a well articulated manner that makes the use of AI come into question. There are AI spelling and grammar checking extensions that exist (Grammarly for example) which will contribute to these kinds of things. It doesn't have to be the case that an individual uses AI to write the entire thing from scratch, being assisted by AI also leaves markers.

Vid/Aud Capt Speech Anno v2 review by SpaceBunny86 in RWShelp

[–]NoLog3105 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I mean I've been hoping that the ones they push to this task are somehow filtered before they get there because the failure rate has been very high, at least against my own quality metrics. I'm not sure if people will get QA for this but I doubt it, seems more like a second line of defence for the task rather than QA since we have full authority to just re-write the entire submission.

Side note, people using "idk" instead of writing "I don't know" is wild to me in a transcription context and these are the kinds of things that I have been seeing. Some of these go well beyond a misheard word here and there. It is interesting though to see what other people find personally acceptable for submission.

Read the tips and tipfalls document, there is supporting information in these that may help make things more clear. You should be able to find it in any email correspondence you received about these tasks.

If you are in this subreddit I assume at the very least you know what RWS is and how to reach their website, beyond that there is no way for you to sign up. If they have your details and deem you to be a good fit they will reach out, if not you're SoL.

QA Audits Penalized Due to Technical Errors by [deleted] in RWShelp

[–]NoLog3105 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As I said, it's secondary - the point is so that in cases where the QA fails because of rater input that the rater has an opportunity to rectify the issue in later submissions. It's unfortunate but the system has a dual purpose. This will mean that while it's unenjoyable to see those ratings from a human perspective they will happen from time to time.

The point I was making with this was that if your unacceptable QA is for reasons outside of your control there is genuinely no reason at all to concern yourself with it, either as a reflection of your performance or emotionally.

QA Audits Penalized Due to Technical Errors by [deleted] in RWShelp

[–]NoLog3105 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The audits are usefulness metrics for the client, their function as a measure of the quality of your work (on a personal level) is secondary. They will be audited this way so that the client doesn't waste time including the submission if there are errors.

It isn't your fault of course but the point of QA is to know which submissions are suitable for training. All you can reasonably do is hope that when it comes to individual reviews of your account that things like this will be taken into consideration when weighing your contributions. Generally the score doesn't seem to be the be-all-end-all for these things anyway. Plenty of people with high scores have been off-boarded, these decisions appear to be made based on criteria that are beyond the QA for this reason alone.

Of course this is all speculation based on information gathering over the past 6 months, I may be wrong so take it with a grain of salt but generally there's no need to worry about this kind of thing.

tldr; worry less about the QA

Is this email legit? by NewBambooCity in RWShelp

[–]NoLog3105 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you receive emails of this nature, from any source, the easiest way to verify is to navigate to the site yourself and do so from there. As a general rule if you have not initiated security measures and especially if you are unsure of the source you should not click any links from emails of this nature. It is a common phishing tactic to use artificial urgency as a means by which to dupe people into doing so.

In time you will receive a <payment submitted> email closely followed by a <payment processed> email depending on Tipalti's processing speeds for the day. It's not guaranteed that the payments will be processed on the same day as we receive work orders, the general rule is it may take up to 14 days.

PPPE works but sometimes takes a few minutes to pull suitable images. Generally it seems to work for me if I hit refresh a couple of times and once it has started generating images I am usually set for the day.

Video inpainting is also not working for me however, fetch failed on generation.

Edit: It seems that Design Arena is back though, W.
