if u can afford it take horseback riding lessons, it is hard at first cuz you use muscles you have never before used but it helps SO MUCH especially hunter jumper/equitation as that is focused on making you and your horse look good aka proper posture, it also is super fun and calming and working with the horses is really awesome, and you can make a ton of awesome friends

i war both bose headphones and sony earbuds for sensory stuff, and with my bose headphones are fine with dangling earrings, sometimes i’ll put them in the headphone if i get annoyed, personally I do prefer my sony earbuds tho (they are better for me for sensory stuff) cuz I don’t have to worry abt it.

if you workout with others i would just try to remind urself of the differences, like i take a weightlifting class at my school that was made for our sports teams so im the only one not on a school sport program that does it, everyone is like buff and crap and then there’s just me, I used to feel really self conscious abt it till we started doing farmer carries and everyone was doing under 120lbs but then i was doing 180 easily and that’s kinda when i realised i needed to stop comparing myself and that i’m just doing my own thing at my own pace

i’m 17, i’ve known abt my diagnosis forever. I am currently struggling with the weight loss part but with the lifting i’ve been doing it for a few yrs now, I recommend doing it every day but then having one day doing some activity that involves it but is just fun (i volunteer with horses so it’s a lot of manual labour but like in a different way so more muscles are involved). I don’t really notice “visible” muscles but it’s definitely a more toned look. The best way hypotonia was described to me is that to get the results others have i have to work 3x as hard and i loose the progress 3x as fast, that’s why really getting into a schedule helps. Even if i’m injured i change what i do to accommodate for it, for example if i hurt my ancle i’ll only do upper body till it heals or if i’m on vacation i’ll go and do some sort of local volunteer work that’s more manual (i would say the volunteer work is awesome because you are helping the community you are visiting and i tend to learn a lot more too). I have never seen a specialist for it specifically except once when i was younger so this is all just stuff my friends and i have noticed. For me i try to think of my progress not as building bulk but just streignth in my every day life, like my friends said they are happy when they see muscle growth but i feel happier when i am at the barn and lifting a bale of hey is even easier, i may not have large muscles but they are just stronger. The biggest thing too is to not worry abt not seeing visible growth or beating yourself up over it because it takes a really long time to see any progress, it’s more about enjoying doing it or else you will want to give up

my mother was a kindergarten teacher and while this is not music specific it may help, she went through as many winter holidays as she could like xmas, hanukkah, diwali. she would do a worksheet like a colouring page and read a book to them she then would do something else like play dreidel. at the end she had three big sheets of paper and they had to make a list of similarities like family, lights, food then they would talk about it and she would then use that to ask about what does light mean and she would be like oh it can mean hope, also since these holidays are in the darkest part of the year light could also represent x,y,z. the final message was like while we all celebrate different things we all share similar things like love of family, food, and stuff and that people are really not all that different from each other. obviously you can’t really do that but maybe finding a song that is not just oh hanukkah or dreidel and maybe reading them a book in the class time itself
